Razer Diamondback (2015) review

Razer's new Diamondback takes a step down on design and a step up on price, making it a poor value.

$90 is a lot to ask for a mouse, and it’s even more to ask if your company offers similar mice with an identical price tag and more features. That’s the case with the Diamondback, which compares poorly to Razer’s own . The Mamba has an identical sensor...

Razer Diamondback (2015)

The Razer Diamondback is a full-featured gaming mouse with customizable lighting and programmable buttons, but its ambidextrous design can be uncomfortable to use.

Ambidextrous. Customizable with 16.8 million color-lighting options. Plenty of programmable buttons. Razer's Synapse software is easy to use.

Uncomfortable to use. Slightly too narrow.

Conclusion The Razer Diamondback is a solid, if somewhat standard, high-end gaming mouse. It doesn't offer standout features at $90, other than the suite of features you'd expect at that price, including programmable buttons and customizable lighting....

Gaming mice: We test the best

It was brutal work, but we put a small herd of mice through their paces. Find the best-looking, best-sniping, most programmable ones here.

Uniquely elongated, ambidextrous shape ; Gorgeous RGB lighting channels

Priced way higher than is warranted ; Unique shape is only comfortable for a certain niche

Let’s get to it. We’ll keep updating this story with new products, too, so let us know if we’ve missed a personal favorite—we’ll try to get it in for testing.

Razer Diamondback Review (2015)

The Razer Diamondback ambidextrous mouse is one of the most well-rounded and beautiful mice I've ever used, in any category. While I'm still all about using a right-handed mouse - since I'm not really a lefty - this piece of equipment is shaped fine...

Razer Diamondback Review — Made for Pros

Razer fans have been clamoring for the Diamondback's return ever since it disappeared eight years ago, but I'm beginning to see why it had such a long absence. It's not that the Diamondback is bad; far from it. It's just a niche product in a world...

Razer Diamondback Optical Mouse Review

Six months ago Razer released their first ever optical mouse, the Viper. They are back this time around with another intimidating mouse, the Diamondback. The Razer Diamondback was made to add more features that all gamers want that the Viper didn't...

The Diamondback includes a lot of new features and changes that the Viper simply did not have. Features like the programmable side buttons, high DPI optical sensor, redesigned teflon feet, and the heavier and more stable design, which were all very...

Razer Diamondback Precision Gaming Mouse Review

Highly regarded as some of the best gaming devices on the market, Razer has released a new version of their popular Diamondback Mouse - this time in killer Acid Green. Is it worth an upgrade? With an optical engine powered by Razer Precision and 1600...

At a price point of just under $60 it is very competitively priced against its competition. I would defiantly recommend giving this mouse a try in your gaming life.

Razer Diamondback (Salamander Red)

Razer has lately been garnering a lot of attention in the world of gaming. Their promotions have included encouraging their consumers to get tattooed with their logo, an impressive booth at QuakeCon 05, and they've collected a number of sparkling...

1600dpi offers smooth movement and high precision.High level of control over the sensitivity and other settings.Chic, transparent design.Comes complete with it's own carrying case.Drivers are compatable with everything from Windows 98 to XP

Narrow design makes use uncomfortable for medium or large hands.Overall shape makes the mousewheel feel somewhat less than natural to use, at least in the beginning.MSRP $60 price tag for a mouse that does exactly what it boasts being capable of, but...

My first experience with Razer mice was at QuakeCon 2005, where they had a booth set up with PCs running the latest games, all of them equipped with their mice. There was a lot to see, so I didn't spend much time at their booth, but most of us remarked...
