MPIO FL500 review: MPIO FL500

MPIO FL500

The MPIO FL 500 is a small, eye-catching player that supports Windows Media Player and doubles as a voice recorder and an FM tuner.

The FL 500's construction feels cheap, its menu navigation is unintuitive, and its screen is too small and dim.

The MPIO FL500 may get you some attention for its design, but there are many players that beat it out on price, performance, capacity, and features.

MPIO FL500 (512MB)

The FL500 offers analog style for the digital generation, but its keys, knobs and dials failed to push our buttons.

Long battery life. Lightweight. Distinctive look.

Ultra-budget earbuds. Illogical button configuration. Display is too small.

It may look like an electric guitar, but MPIO's FL500 struggles to deliver a rockin' experience.

MPIO FL500 (512MB)

I've seen A LOT better.

Nice shape. Belt clip was great. Display was also good. Easy switch between operations (MP3,FM,REC)

Idono if the one I bought was fulty, but it had tech issues. I tried to transfer a whole bunch of songs, about 977 MB if yo uneeded to know. Then I disconnect and check my MP3 player, and even though it says that 977 MB is being used, half of my songs...

Almost a good player.

Good price. Nice look. Lots of useful features

Didnt work right out of the box. Freezes after 1 or 2 songs and has to be reset. Structure of the product is poor

MPIO FL500 (512MB)

The second, and last, MPIO I've bought and had to return.

Worked fine for a whole eight hours

The multi-function button was so sensitive, every time I tried to pause a track, it FF'd to the next one. The volume dial was so loose it was almost falling off. The body didn't fit together properly and the display light was visible through the...
