MyVu Personal Media Viewer review: MyVu Personal Media Viewer

MyVu Personal Media Viewer

The MyVu Personal Media Viewer gives the illusion of watching your PVP's videos on a large screen from several feet away, and it lets you enjoy visual content in complete privacy. The Universal Edition works with a wide variety of video devices.

The MyVu Personal Media Viewer's design isn't very ergonomic or attractive, and it's expensive for an accessory.

The Universal Edition of MyVu's Personal Media Viewer is an interesting PVP accessory that will let you enjoy content on a "larger screen" and in relative privacy, but the design and video quality could use some tweaking.

Review: Myvu Personal Media Viewer

PMPs should be in your face, not on your tray table. Plugging my iPod into the plastic battery sheath took five seconds, and the combination...

Fully charged battery lasted through three viewing of Star Trek: Nemesis. Transparent windows won’t block peripheral vision; you won’t miss the in-flight booze cart! Doesn’t look half as absurd as Toshiba’s Bubble Helmet

Frames don’t fit over standard eyeglasses–be ready to shell out for a clip-on Rx insert. AC adapter won’t fit in travel case. An iPod accessory that costs more than a 30GB iPod. Good Lordy, you look like Geordi

Review: myvu – personal media viewer

If you've been an avid JAMM follower, you might have remembered that last March, my friend and fellow gadget-addict/Editor Doug did a fantastic review of the myvu media viewer-personal edition. While my heart bleeds in envy while I'm reading the...

While it's not going to replace your home theater setup anytime soon, the convenience and ease of having your entertainment addiction fulfilled and on the go nonetheless, is reason enough to own this sleek device.

myvu Personal Media Viewer Review

With all the hub-bub around the new iPods and Zunes, I had been searching for something to make my older 60GB 5G iPod Video new and exciting again. I wanted something that would be fun, and bring some zip back to the device, and be way cool, especially...

Myvu Personal Media Viewer

Watching video on an iPod is nice, but sometimes it can be difficult. The Myvu Personal Media Viewer allows the user to view video by looking through a set of glasses, putting the display up in front wherever the user looks. Add in a set of...

Unique device, Comfortable, Excellent audio quality, Adjustable nose piece and earbud pads, Optional Rx Clip-on lens, Optional Power Pack

Price, Image slightly small, Low resolution, 4:3 screen ratio, Much of peripheral view blocked

The Myvu Personal Media Viewer is a unique device that allows viewing videos on a video iPod. The unit is well-designed and comfortable, plus it has additional nose pieces and earbud pads to customize the viewer to the user. Battery life is similar to...

Watch iPod-hosted video anywhere, hands-free...if you don't mind strange looks from passers-by.

The Myvu is a well-designed personal media viewer for the iPod that hits a home run. All that's missing is protection for the iPod screen. The style-namely, wearing the visor-may take a bit of getting used to, but the Myvu combines form and...

On-the-go, "large-screen" viewing of iPod-hosted video ; good image quality ; battery pack for extra runtime ; visor lets you see above, below, and through ; prescription eyeglass option available

Doesn't accommodate iPod cases ; no iPod screen protection ; no native widescreen mode ; belt clip not secure

Your iPod slides into the Myvu's case-slash-battery-pack and then connects using a standard 30-pin dock connector cable. The goggles connect to the iPod/battery unit using a single cable that's long enough to snake to your belt or inside a jacket...

Myvu Personal Media Viewer Review

Turn your iPod into a home cinema system with this set of video glasses. The Myvu Personal Media viewer is surprisingly better than it first appears.

Makes iPod video appear much larger, Good audio quality

Expensive, silly looking, the video image is still relatively small

Many people will dismiss the Myvu glasses as a silly gimmick, and we really can't imagine that anyone will want to wear them in a public place. However, just as there are expensive sets of headphones designed for travellers to use on planes, we can...

Myvu - Personal Media Viewer

The latest attempt to crack the video eyewear market comes from Myvu with its new range of iPod-targeted Personal Media Viewers. The version we have on test is the 'fully loaded edition', which includes a battery ...

Myvu scores points for style and comfort with its Personal Media Viewer, but the glasses are quite expensive and currently restricted to use with an iPod. It's a fairly tidy package though, and for occasional or short-term use is one of the better...
