SanDisk Sansa e100 review

SanDisk Sansa e100 Series SanDisk's first MP3 player, the Digital Audio Player , amazed everyone by quickly becoming number two in market share, though still well behind Apple's iPod. According to an NDP report, the aggressively priced flash-based...

Lightweight; supports DRM-protected WMA and Audible files; built-in FM tuner and stopwatch; decent navigational menus; expansion slot; attractive street prices.

Poor scrollwheel (for navigation and volume control); mediocre sound quality; no playlist support.

The SanDisk Sansa series will be the pick for those looking for an affordable WMA-friendly player packed with more features than the Apple iPod Shuffle, but if you want top-notch sound quality, stick with the latter.

SanDisk Sansa Express

The SanDisk Sansa Express is a solid choice for those who need an ultra-convenient MP3 player with a decent smattering of features.

Features a handy plug-and-play design, Iinexpensive, Offers desirable extras, such as an FM tuner, support for protected WMAs, MicroSD expansion slot

Screen is tiny and capable of displaying only two colors, No album art or photo support

SanDisk Sansa e140 MP3 Player

Oh, no, not yet another mp3 player review! I have read tons of them already. Why should I read this one? Well, for the same reason I wrote it, I hope--because with its SD slot and FM tuner the SanDisk Sansa e140 not only looks interesting it brings...

FM radio tuner ; SD expansion slot ; Decent battery life ; Easy to read LCD ; Basic features easy to use

Tiny USB cable ; SD card size limited to 2GB

If you don't yet own or are just looking to replace an aging .MP3 player you can't go wrong with the SanDisk Sansa e140 MP3 Player. I really have to nit pick to find much wrong with this package. For instance, the interface--while for the most part...

SanDisk Sansa e140

The SanDisk Sansa e140 is a lightweight 1GB flash-based MP3 player that contains a fine set of features, including an SD memory expansion slot, but it...

Lightweight, SD card slot, stopwatch and FM radio

Bulky and cheap-looking, tacky controls, poor sound quality, poor supplied headphones, no playlist support

This lightweight unit has a couple of good features, but is plagued by multiple problems, including a poorly implemented scroll wheel, surprisingly poor sound quality and lack of playlist support.

SanDisk Sansa e140 (1GB)

Although it's an affordable flash player with a decent smattering of features, the e100 series won't win any awards for sound quality.

Lightweight ; Supports DRM-protected WMA and Audible files ; Built-in FM tuner and stopwatch ; Decent navigational menus ; Expansion slot

Poor scrollwheel (for navigation and volume control) ; Mediocre sound quality ; No playlist support

Sound quality is not impressive at all, despite the five EQs and the SRS Wow effects. Our test MP3s (which include Ikara Colt's "Don't They Know" and Bjork's "Headphones") sounded a bit dull, with noticeable background hiss. Also, the player couldn't...

SanDisk Sansa e140 Digital Audio Player 1GB

There are so many different types of portable media devices available to us today that I really wonder why you wouldnt want one to use. Surely there is something suitable amongst this large selection, for almost everyone. I know that a lot of these...

Overall the SanDisk Sansa e140 Digital Audio Player is a compact little player that still manages to pack quite a wallop. Its durable lightweight design lends itself to active use, such as exercising or jogging, while its navigation setup provides the...

Great little player.

Player great for its time, these have been around several years. Have bought 3 of these. Gave 2 to my twin 6 yr old grandsons a couple of years ago. They were dropped, stepped on, covered with various foodstuffs (easy to clean) & used daily for over a...

Tough, expandable, FM, plays Audible, light weight

UI & screen could be better, sound is ok but not great (Sansa Clip sounds much better). no volume limiter

This is no good

Stay away from this product. Its very cheaply made and will not last long.

Good quality sound. Long battery life

The volume button is horrible. It'll burst your ear drum if you have nice ear buds. The screen broke when it fell out of my pocket. Very cheap and not durable what so ever

Hard to like this player

I want to like this player, but can't. I curse it everytime it randomly ejects my sd card

one of the few remaining players with a full-size SD slot... great way to go if you already have a few SD cards lying around the house

Battery hog when reading from sd card. sd card (loads from the side of the unit) doesn't load flush and randomly ejects with minimal presure. very bulky compared to what's on the market today. Limited custom playlists. Accessories are unsatisfactory...

Compact & Powerful

None.

The e140 is a great little machine. Bought 2, and both worked great right out of the package. Nice features are that it can take a 1 or 2 gig SD card for more music. They are light and easy fit into a pocket. Controls are nice and not to small. Also,...

The USB cord could be a little longer
