Lasted a month

Cheap, lightweight

Would have been a great little player for holding all my music except that it broke a week after the 30 day warranty expired (no sound comes out, no matter what earphones I use.) ; There goes 15$ straight down the drain, you really have to doubt the...

Recertified: SanDisk Black 1GB MP3 Player Sansa c240

Good little unit great easy to use windows vista and 7 picked up the device as soon as it was plugged in. I like the fact it has the micro sd slot can use it to expand it

Nothing as of yet will use sandisk in the future for mp3 player needs

Rockbox OK on mine

Bought this to supplement my Rockboxed Sansa E260 which is a bit heavy for some applications. I still love the E260, but I love this little C240 too. It was worth the $13 gamble that it was a v.1. Newegg+Sansa+Rockbox=perfect world

Maybe I just got lucky, but mine is a v.1 so Rockbox works wonderfully on it. But like audiblu42 says, I have to do the magic Sansa Power/hold/left/plug ritual to get it into MSC mode, but once that was done, Rockbox installed no prob. Excellent sound...

As others have mentioned, no manual or software, and the earbuds went right into the trash ; RockDOOM is too small to see :)

Great Deal!!

Great little cheap player that I'm overall pleased with. Sandisk needs to do a firmware upgrade for V2 and consort with RockBox on their release for V2. If you're having difficulty, avoid the Sandisk website and look to the help forums, you'll find an...

This thing is TINY! Great sound(with upscale earbuds) and radio reception is exceptional in my area. Memory is expandable and once you get famaliar with the controls, it's really easy to use

Refurbs don't come with a users manual, CD or lanyard. But, for the price, who cares? Earbuds are the worst ever and the two I bought both had V2 firmware so, no RockBox or menu selectable MSC mode (to sync with WMP). Instead, I have to lock and hold...

Verry Happy

I bought it for podcasts and radio while commuting, but it is fine for music too.

The sound is really good. The design and menu is nice and having FM makes it a really good deal

When i plug in in, my computer sometimes loses it and then re-recognizes it as if it was unplugged for a sec. Not really a problem, just and anomaly. and I suspect its a software timing issue since the cable and connection looks solid. A more serious...

Works well enough for me

Photo viewer seems worthless considering the size of the screen, but at the same time makes me wish it did video and text. Having to charge via USB gets to be bothersome.

Fairly quick charging and comfortable in one hand. A big step up from using my PSP as an mp3 player ; Fits easily into my pockets, quickly changes from radio stations. Battery life is fairly good, gets me through a day in what appears to be about half...

Can't use Rockbox, minor issue as I'm not familiar with the software but I was intending on using that firmware on one of these until I read through the user guide and found it doesn't work with the newer c240's ; Also gets poor radio reception in my...

Works great for me.

The other guy may be correct about the pauses, but I think he took too many eggs for for such an issue. Use it the next time you get pulled over so if the cop isn't truthful with you your recording will reflect that.

I purchased this unit long ago at a closeout. I realize that most will use it for music, but with its mic it works great for dictation. I recorded college lectures that were just too much to comprehend all at once. Voice pickup was amazing. Go to any...

None, I'm buying another to get me through even longer lectures. The music player portion is a nice plus for later

Cheap in Price and Quality

I got this player from an online promotion that essentially made it free. It sat around in a drawer in my desk until my main digital music player broke, at which time I started using this one in a purely temporary capacity. I would recommend it as a...

Lightweight, even for its small size. Decent battery life on a single AAA battery (10 - 16 hours). Easy to connect and upload songs, as the player registers as a common USB mass storage device. Buttons are easy to use but not easy to accidentally press

Mediocre sound quality. No automatic music library syncing (no specialized software whatsoever). No rechargeable battery. No method to queue songs (that I could find, at least) ; But the biggest con: Scrolling through your music library while listening...

JUNK!!!

This MP3 is a piece of junk! I have had mine for 6 months and the headphone jack does not work and it turns itself on and off.

Freezes Up, Headphone jack breaks, Insufficient Storage, Poor Sound Quality

great little player

Got this originally because it was lightweight and I wanted to use it at the gym and on the beach to listen to FM radio. Finally learned to download music to it, and I love it even more. The only thing I can't figure out is how to delete songs I've...

Easy To Set Up, Great Sound, Reliable Performance, Simple Controls, Sleek/Compact
