Sony NWZ-Z1000

First Look: Can Sony's 4.3in Android-based Walkman compete with the iPod touch?

Overall the phone - sorry, media player - feels rather light in the hands and lacks the premium quality of Apple's products, due to the plastic material used for the front and rear. Overall, however we liked the design which is rather attractive.

Sony Walkman NWZ-Z1060 Review

Reigniting the classic Walkman brand, the NWZ-Z1060 ticks both audio and video boxes

Swipe to skip features ; Strong inbuilt audio abilities ; Solid ; ergonomic styling

Lack of USB charging ; Rather pricey ; Speaker placement

Sony Walkman NWZ-Z1060 review

Sony's new Walkman is a chunky Android-based MP3 player with 32GB internal storage and a 4.3in QVGA (800x480) screen. It has similar battery life to most Android phones and managed to keep playing audio for 22 hours and video for almost six and a half...

The best Android MP3 player we've seen yet is, unfortunately, shockingly expensive

Sony NWZ-Z1000 Walkman review

The Walkman brand marches on with the Android army

Neither a smartphone nor an iPod-beater, the Z1000 languishes in no man's land

Sony Walkman NWZ-Z1050

If you want a dedicated MP3 player, but can't bear to buy an iPod Touch, then this Android-powered Z-Series Walkman may be the go for you.

Sony NWZ-Z1060 Walkman

The Sony NWZ-Z1060 Walkman is an Android-based portable music player. It has a 4.3-inch TFT LED backlit display, 32GB storage, USB connectivity voice recording, an FM tuner and a 14-hour battery life. Compatible music formats include MP3, WMA, WMA...

The Sony NWZ-Z1060 is an impressive music player that delivers all the features and sound quality a music fan could want, but the price is just too high to make it worth recommending. Unless you really don't like iTunes, an iPod touch and all its apps...

Worst Sony product ever bought

I have never regret a purchase as such. Dual-core processor? Then why the touch screen and the three touch buttons give no response from time to time? In the playback view, when I press the menu button, I always have to wait for longer than 1 second...

Nice!

This thing sounds awesome. I highly recommend it. I got the 23 GB variety and have been very pleased. I am almost overwhelmed with the functionality it offers!

Great Sound, touch screen

Poor Availability of Accessories

no match for iPod

Sony should really make an effort to compete with the iPod...this offering doesn't do it. All the features are there to be an iPod killer, but they didn't follow through. It is called a MP3 player - and that's what it is. I wanted something to replace...

If it's a quality product, it must be a Sony

Have you ever had your eyes closed while watching a video? Probably not but that's what this NWZZ1060 will make you do with its pristine sound quality. You hear tones which never existed before. Always remember, this is a dedicated walkman and it does...
