An Inexpensive Radio That's Hard to Beat

It's interesting to note how long this little radio has been on the market -- the reviews span back several years. While a product that's been manufactured for a considerable period of time is not guaranteed to be of high quality, "staying power" does ...

Ultra-low price, excellent audio for a radio of this size, good shortwave performance

Tuning dial hard to read and inaccurate

OK performance, but FM is lacking

The Coby CX-CB12 portable radio is an analog multi-band radio that can be had for under $10. At this price you can't expect much, but the question is...is it worth spending any money on this radio?

Inexpensive, multiband radio

FM performance is very poor if you are close to a FM station

Quality/Price=Five stars

This radio is the best quality radio you can buy in the planet for the least price.I bought this radio from Big Lots store for 8$.

Cheap, easy to operate, comes with earphones, ideal beginners SWL radio

No external antenna outlet, cheap material

You won't believe it.

The only reason I bought this radio was because I wanted something to carry, say to the lake or something and could afford to lose. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the excellent human-voice audio, and impressive-for-its-class sensitivity.

Cheap! Sensitive enough on MW and SW, and excellent audio for its class

Not-so-hot construction, band switcher is plenty awkward, analog tuner

Inexpensive Shortwave Solution

Hey for $15 or so bucks how can you beat this? AM/FM, 9 bands of shortwave and a longwave band. Very cool indeed. It does what it says it will do. But there are some problems.

Inexpensive for what it is

Poor construction, parts will not last

Surprising Quality for Cheap Little Radio

Like the last reviewer, I picked up this radio for $8 at Big Lots, kind of surprised to find a shortwave radio there for such a price. I'd been looking for a small, cheap portable radio for traveling and carrying around with me outdoors. Most portable...

Good shortwave reception, small size, super cheap

poor selectivity

Coby CX-CB12 World Band radio

Costs only fifteen dollars! Sony, Sangean and the rest want fifty or more for their versions, and they don't play any better. This little set is a well made, handsome radio, that does two things well (for its class); it receives lots of shortwave...

Inexpensive!Lots of SW frequency coverage;good audio;compact

Poor image rejection on AM and FM(who cares,it's for shortwave);dial backlash
