Having owned more than a dozen different Grundig (Eton), Sony and Kaito portables, I have a lot to compare this to -- including the Grundig YB400PE and the vaunted G5, Sony ICF7600GR, and several Kaito receivers.

This radio is great. It gets great life on 4 d cells. The am tuning is great and really shines after dark. I am amazed at the number of people who have no idea how am of shortwave work that post bad reviews of this radio. Are their better radios out...

I have owned this item for 13 months now and love it. It sounds great and pulls in my favorite AM station at night from over 600 miles San Antonio.
