Brother DCP-8040

Fast prints and copies; inexpensive; crisp text-print quality; easy to use; plum warranty.

No fax; slow and imperfect scans; nondetachable scanner lid.

The Brother DCP-8040 excels at prints and copies, but it can't handle everything in the multifunction bailiwick.

Easy setup. Easy to Use.

 

The builtin ethernet interface is priced too high. Lately we've been buying USB and just setting them up as shared printers in OSX.

These are great multifunction printers. I use them with PCs and Macs. They work better with PCs but are not bad with Macs. You can hook up both their ethernet port (if they have one) and the USB simultaneously. They are a boon for teachers

The scanning interface takes a bit getting used to but once mastered is quite powerful. I am worried about the plastic feeder breaking off but it hasn't happened yet
