Brother HL-1850 review: Brother HL-1850

Brother HL-1850

Fast print speeds; outstanding text quality; integrated duplexer.

Mediocre graphics output; disappointing paper capacity.

Despite its paltry paper capacity, the reasonably priced HL-1850 will keep your small office humming with its fast print speeds and duplex-printing capability.

Brother HL-1850 LASER PRINTER 19PPM 16MB HQ1200DPI 350 SHEET INPUT (Brother-HL1850)

An outstanding workhorse

This is an outstanding workhorse of a printer. We bought it replace an aging Lexmark. We chose it because we do some printing from DOS, and this is one of the few laser printers around that included emulations for Epson, Okidata, and IBM Proprinter. ...

Great printer for the money... once you get it installed

I purchased a Brother HL-1850 for home use, to be shared via USB hot-plugging between two Windows 98 machines, and a Mac OS X Powerbook (I know, networking would be the right way to go, but I am trying to watch the pennies, and it mostly gets used on...

Nifty duplex feature, easy to use front panel controls, economical operation, flexible paper path options

A bit noisy when running, wonderfully detailed driver install instructions don't work
