Brother MFC-8460N

If you want an excellent printer (quality and cost wise), capable copier, and don't mind sub par scanning, this is a good buy

Good quality prints ; Low running cost

Scanner is not up to the mark

If you want an excellent printer (quality and cost wise), capable copier, and don't mind sub par scanning, this printer is a good buy.

FAST!

I have yet to use the scan features which was a major reason for getting this unit.

Really fast, i was not excpecting it to be this fast. I think they really do mean 30PPM. Addon tray option, toner is priced decently

1,000+ Watts peak power, legal paper tray stick out of the back of the unit once you expand the tray

Well priced, specs are all very competitive

Does everything my customer needed - fax, high speed printing, 1200dpi, and scanning

Mono, not color

Large PDF's

Does anyone know if there is an upgrade available for the software or alternative software available that scans to a new version of Adobe?

Great price and tons of features. Prints very fast and operates like a much more expensive machine

The scanning software is old and scans PDF's to a much older version than what is available. This results in very large files. It should have a download to scan to new versions of Adobe

Brother 8460N

I was an HP fan till I found this all in one. Brother has come a long way in helping people do it them selves. The Toner cartridge has a plug that can be removed and new toner added. I use each cartridge till it's empty. Then refill it one to one and a...

The price has got to be the best feature of this all in one. I use it in our office. Our page counter has just passed 46000 this week. It's fast (for the price) printing and sending. Scanning to our computers is Great. We have networked 3 computers...

It is some what noisy. Some times there is a little bleed off if your doing multiple prints of the same thing. Envelopes get crinkled when you put them through

Love this printer

Outstanding device. I would buy another in a heartbeat.

This device has performed wonderfully for my small business. It works flawlessly as printer, fax, and copier. I love that it can duplex scan and duplex print. Saves paper, and saves time flipping pages. The fact that the drum is physically separate...

Mostly minor. It's physically kinda big. You can't set the number of times it tries to redial on faxes (tries twice then prints a failure journal). You can set received faxes to default to printing duplexed, but you can't set the print driver to...

brother MFC Series MFC-8460N MFC / All-In-One Up to 30 ppm Monochrome Laser Printer

Great for the home or small office network. Saves $$$ over inkjet printing.

Versatile, reliable, easy to Network. The accompanying Paperport software is good. Warms up quick

Needed to download a Vista printing driver - print works flawlessly but the Paperport scanning software doesn't work with Vista

LOVE IT!

For low budget work groups or small businesses, THIS IS THE UNIT!

While this unit is not extremely fast for printing or scanning, it is very durable and reliable. We now have 4 of these, 3 at satellite offices and one in the main office. It has all the software features of the $20,000 Kyocera and Gestetner units....

Sometimes the scanning slows down for no apparent reason. Not often, and not on all units, maybe once a month or so. A power cycle seems to resolve the issue

MFC-8460N LASER P/S/C/F PC FAX

Given the short period of usage, I am happy with the MFC and impressed with its features.

Haven't been using it very long but so far I am impressed. Scan to Word is much better than having used OmniPage with my old multifunction. The bundled software is converts very quickly and accurately. What the future brings, we will see

color scan looks washed out (but I still need to play around with settings). I have had some software problems (a disconnect between the machine and my computer) but turning the multifunction off and back on corrects it. This is a pain, but a lot...
