Brother MFC-9120CN

The Brother MFC-9120CN provides good print speed and solid text quality to micro offices looking for a color laser MFP.

Good speed. Solid text printing. Prints, scans, and faxes over network. Sub-par graphics and photos. No thumb-drive or media-card slots. Manual duplexing only.

Lab Test: Brother MFC-9120CN

Installation over Ethernet and USB was straightforward using the printer setup utility. The printer was recognised instantly and an up-to-date driver was installed in quick time. There are four toner cartridges to install as the MFC-9120CN is a CYMK...

Very fast

No wireless; noisy

Given the size of the MFC-9120CN, it’s not really suited to being placed on the desk next to a workstation. Also, we found that even when inactive, the MFC-9120CN emitted a low hum, adding to the ambient office noise. We’d suggest that users keep this...

No more ink!

I have grown to really hate ink jet printers. Great if you use them often but sitting idle the print heads dry out and clog. Ink is not cheap either. I have had zero problems with laser printers but longed for a color one for a decent price. This thing...

I have been on the fence to buy a network color laser printer for home use for a while. I have a B&W Brother laser networked,an HP color ink jet that is always empty or clogged and an old fax machine. My goal was to get a one machine solution to do...

Nothing comes to mind unless you have to replace all the toner cartridges at once. At around $50 a pop it would leave a mark on your wallet. The box it comes in is frigging HUGE. I think they could air drop it to your house and it would land OK. The...

Excellent Printer

As someone else mentioned, you should keep one set of each cartridge available so that when one color runs out, you can immediately replace it, then you have time to purchase a replacement for just that one cartridge (you don't have to keep buying a...

I have generally standardized on HP printers both at home (inkjets for the lower up front cost) and at work (for the reliability). When I needed a new printer at home, I didn't want to continue down the path of ink cartridges, so I researched a lot of...

No major cons. I would like to have been able to get a printer with true duplex printing, but I don't have enough need to pay more for that feature. This printer has a "Duplex" option when printing that prints one side, then prompts you to flip the...

brother MFC Series MFC-9120CN MFC / All-In-One Up to 17 ppm 600 x 2400 dpi Color LED Digital Printer

Haven't really found any

Great low end printer

My wife keeps opening the access to the toner instead of lifting the scanner adf. It's kinda hard to get upset with Brother for that though.

Very user friendly. Does NOT have a lot of bloatware in the drivers. Even my luddite wife can figure out the controls. I have had no jams or operational problems. Toner costs are low/moderate for a color laser. Excellent value

Does not have duplex

Brother MFC LED

If anyone knows how to fake out the toner sensor on this unit I would love to clued in.

This unit does all that it claims. Print is clear, crisp and relatively fast. Getting away from ink cartridges is nice, but not as advantageous as anticipated. I am on the fence about this purchase - see toner below

My biggest complaint is being held hostage by color toner cartridges. If any cartridge runs out, you cannot print - period. Irrespective of setting printer defaults to B/W or gray scale. For small office environment this will shut you down, AND since...

It's pretty good, but not all that I wanted

It is a heavy piece of machinery! Newegg has been a great vendor.

Easy to set up. Good quality print & color. 2-sided printing takes some work, but it isn't too complicated - good prompts

Fax" seems to be the default mode and that has created some annoyances. Also cannot print or copy "to the edge" which was really something I wanted

Paper jams

Not very reliable. Causes frustrations. Not good for home-office. Scanning over network on Windows Server not available.

The first few times it was great. The document feeder handled 21 pages without any problems. Network fax, print, and scan from XP and 7

Document feeder jams or pulls too many sheets at once. Single sheet feeder jams. No scan or fax from Windows Server

Great MFP for home use

I have really grown to like Brother products over the last few years, I have yet to be disappointed by one.

Great print quality, scanner produces decent scans and the software package is quite good for home use

Had something jammed near the paper feeder that was not allowing it to feed, but once we popped it loose everything started working great. Probably just got knocked around in shipping
