Service and support

Brother MFC-9700

Fast, good-quality text printing.

Expensive; lackluster design; poor scan quality; tiny control-panel LCD.

A small home office with light faxing, scanning, and copying needs could make do with this product.

"Terrible support / complicated set up"

Trying to set up to Mac / android - both are very difficult. The supplied disk didn't work so had to download drivers which still didn't do it. I tried online chat support for 20 minutes but didn't get thru than called and after they took my info got...

MFC9700 A WORK HORSE

I HAVE HAD MY MFC9700 FOR OVER 5 YEARS. IT DOESN'T MISS A STEP. GREAT ENLARGEMENT AND REDUCTIONS. OUTSTANDING SCANNER. NOW THAT NON-BROTHER REPLACEMENT DRUMS AND TONER CARTRIDGES ARE AVAILABLE, THE UPKEEP IS VERY REASONABLE. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS UNIT...

Since I rarely buy computer equipment, I read every single review that I could find. The most negative comments that I could find were associated with the complexity of settin up the fax machine. More than half the manual is dealing specifically with...

I looked all over for a laser multi-function machine, and finally chose the 9700. Every day has been a joy since. I used it tied to a Windows 2000 computer (parallel) and G3 (usb), and had no problems printing - and it is quite speedy. I got the...

I have purchased one of these machines for my roofing company. Brother has out performed my expectations by far. I switched from a 3200 to upgrade to a machine with flatbed capabilities and have found even with more features, it out performs the...

Here is a machine like HP used to make. My HP-3100 was never as solid as I expected, and after 18 months, I just threw it away. The Brother machine is fast, reliable, and much more versitile than the HP machine.Downside - the MFC-9700 is very slow for...
