Brother QL-500 PC Label Printer

 

The Brother QL-500 lets you change from one label format to another at the drop of a hat.

Works with a variety of label sizes. Easy to change from one size label roll to another. Fast speed, at 50 mailing labels per minute.

Larger footprint than typical office label printer. Software is relatively complex and takes time to learn.

nice, but...

 

Excellent product and print quality and software. I just wish it would have come with a few various rolls to get you started. a little cheap in that respect considering proprietary labels I understand. Anyway.

Would be nice to have more than just a minimal "starter" roll

Outstanding little printer

 

I had just received mine and fired it up and works perfect. This is a great little label printer and if you use Linux, Brother does have Linux drivers for it.

Incredible deal

 

Supported (drivers) from Windows 2000 to Windows 7. Quiet and adequately fast for 1-label jobs and all of that for $50 only.

Requires own software. Requires own labels. i.e. not standard.

Great Label Printer

 

Light, needs little room. Very quick to print. We have 4 of these at our offices and (since 2006), all 4 have run perfect - no jams, no problems and plenty of labels. In the past 3 years, we've must have printed over 20,000 labels between the 4...

Software is fine - can be a little confusing, but everyone seem learn quickly. The labels can be either low priced or expensive - depending where you purchase them from.

QL500

 

I had tried a number of other label printers previous to finding this one, and none of them would do everything we needed it to do. My end users almost go through withdrawals if they move to a different office that doesn't have one of these on the desk.

I have over 225 of these label printers. In the last 2 yrs, only 1 has failed. They are used daily by all of the escrow people in the offices and they love them. Supplies are easy to get locally (WA & OR) Small footprint works well on desktops.

Could use an auto cutter, and wish the software was a little better.

Drop in cartridges make swapping label sizes a snap. Must use Brother labels, but what you get is a roll of labels on a special roll cartridge. Cartridge has holes on bottom that tell printer what kind of label is inserted so it automatically sets the...

Software can be a bit confusing, especially the Office merge pieces. Documentation was not great so trial and error taught us most of what we know about it. If you print a lot of labels you might want to give up ease of use in favor of cheaper labels....
