I have not yet scanned anything aside from a photocopy. I assume from "scanner" being in the tech description than I can scan a physical photo/handout and digitize it to a file on my computer. I probably won't end up using the fax feature.

Works well for the price. Scans clearly, prints quickly... goes through ink a little fast, but it's not expensive ink either. Easy to set up with my router, looks nice.

Canon should discontinue this printer or not sell it as wireless. I have had to reinstall the print driver so many times it's stupid. Wireless printing works when it wants to. Even after reinstalling the software it doesn't work, then magically days...

Don't Buy! Too much of a headache. Wireless does not always work. Print line not straight. Paper jams. Loses connection too often. Pain.

Printer consistently reports "out of ink" when it's not. It's a real pain to reset. Very annoying.

This printer consistently misreads paper and will not feed. I am seriously frustrated with it's performance... nothing I do seems to make a difference in how the paper feeds...message out of paper is the standard all the time

Bought this to replace my MX870 that I loved. Setup was so easy on my Mac, almost automatic! Works fantastic, scans pictures great! Network just set itself up. Nothing to it. I'm running OS X 10.6.8 on my Mac Pro 1,1. Only "Con" is the ink is expensive.

Several times I've started a 20-25 page 2-sided print job and the printer stopped, either after completing the first sides, or in the middle of printing the second sides. What a headache, especially when in a hurry. Sometimes takes 20 minutes to start,...
