Canon Imageclass MF8170C Printer

 

It's big and it's heavy. But the Canon ImageClass MF8170C fits on a desk, and it takes up a lot less room than four separate machines.

Excellent scan quality ; Produces sharp and dark text

Middling network support

Canon doesn't bundle much software with the MF8170C beyond the unit's drivers and a Web server application for directing where scans from the MF8170C will sit on the PC. The MF Toolbox software also lets you scan the image to an OCR document or save...

Image quality

 

Canon ImageClass MF8170c

Affordable; good print quality; broad range of features; easy to use.

Limited paper handling; no Macintosh support; slow.

The MF8170c is a great home-office multifunction, but in bigger offices it's suitable only for patient workgroups.

Works as standalone fax machine and color copier and includes a 50-page ADF. Text and photo output are in the top tier for color lasers. Includes network connector.

Network installation is clumsy. Color copies shift toward blue. Can't scan to a PC over the network.

HAS A MAJOR FLAW

 

Nice color output,not too complicated,prints well as a general printer copier fax.

Bulky,paper tray too small, Scan does not work on LAN.
