Canon PIXMA iP1700 Photo Printer (17 PPM, 4800x1200 DPI, Color, 96kB, PC/Mac)

Clad in two shades of dull gray plastic, the Pixma iP1700 is a surprisingly capable low-cost photo printer with a minimalist design. The top and front panels flip open to create an input area or to provide access to the black and tricolor ink...

Inexpensive ; Competent speed

No output tray ; Skimpy labels make design confusing

A cheapskate's delight, this printer demands surprisingly few compromises for the low price.

Canon Pixma iP1700 review

The Canon Pixma iP1700 is the entry-level member of Canon's line of single-function photo inkjet printers. At $50, it's a bargain for a printer that puts out high-quality photos, but its lack of features will leave photo hobbyists hankering for more....

Very inexpensive; great print quality for the price; helpful software; small form factor.

Lacks output tray; must print directly from your PC.

The Canon Pixma iP1700 is a bargain of a printer, especially considering its impressive print quality.

Canon PIXMA iP1700 Inkjet Printer

Well like its predecessor the iP1200, the Canon PIXMA iP1700 is also bit bulky. I mean, you think Canon could have maybe changed the design a bit. What it really looks like is a printer that's still in the process of being completed. The front end...

It seems the Canon iP1700 is almost identical in every way to the iP1200, when it comes to most of the tests we conducted and even with the unimaginative design of the printer itself. But where the iP1700 lacks in size (and shape) and few odds and...

Canon provides a one-year limited warranty for the Pixma MP160 which you can extend to three years for AU$99. You can also get tech support via e-mail, and Canon says it will respond within 24 hours. Canon's site has FAQs, a troubleshooting tool,...

Good Printer for price and overall

Canon printers tend to take a little longer to start up because of the effort Canon has put in developing technology that not only keeps print heads from clogging, but gives them a little refreshing job so the first page is as good as the last... It is...

The price of the ink is much better than most of HP's however not the best for canon (pg-40 a tiny bit more than 1$ per mL) (HP ranges from over 1$ per mL to 2 or more $ per mL) The quality is great (as always for canon) It prints crystal clear...

It is a little bit on the noisy side. It very aggressively takes the paper. It's like claclick chunk clunk eeeeeeh ... But it is mostly because of the very high pages per minute this printer has (a pro). It barely shakes my desk and I have a room to...
