Canon Pixma iP6700D review

Last year, Canon introduced the Pixma iP6600D , a 9,600x2,400dpi printer with a built-in card reader, a 3.5-inch LCD screen, and a full set of controls right atop the unit. The inclusion of built-in duplex printing hinted that the iP6600D might have a...

Built-in duplexing; 3.5-inch LCD; full controls on printer; built-in memory card reader; impressive photo quality; IrDA, Bluetooth (with adapter), and Pictbridge direct printing; Mac and Windows compatible.

Mediocre text quality; slow text printing.

Photographers will love the Canon Pixma iP6700D's speedy, high-quality photos, but sluggish, mediocre text output will be a turn-off for the SOHO/business crowd.

Canon Pixma iP6700D Review

The iP6700D boasts a big color LCD, two-sided printing, and nice photo output, but text quality and speed were average.

Big 3.5-inch color LCD display ; Two-sided printing

Bronze skin tones in photo-paper prints ; Average text quality and output speeds

The iP6700D is a good-quality six-ink photo printer with a nice LCD and connectivity options for printing without a PC. However, text isn't its strongest point, and iP6600D owners don't really need to upgrade unless the new model's improved paper...

Canon Pixma iP6700D

Setting up the iP6700D is typical for ink jets that use a separate cartridge for each color, and standard for Canon ink jets in that category. Clear off a spot for the 7.7- by 16.9- by 12.0-inch printer, plug in the power cord, insert the print head...

True photo-quality output. Fast photo output. Prints from computers, cameras, and memory cards. Optional Bluetooth adapter

Poor speed for business applications. Full-page graphics tend to make plain paper curl

The Canon Pixma iP6700D can serve as an all-purpose printer, but its high rating comes almost entirely from printing high-quality photos at fast speeds.

Canon Pixma iP6700D

The PIXMA iP6700D utilizes Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) technology and the ChromaLife100 ink system to produce high-quality, long-lasting photos that any pro would be proud to display. With an extra-large 3.5" color LCD...

Canon's exclusive FINE high-performance print heads deliver sub-micron level precision during the manufacturing process. FINE print heads are the only consumer-oriented print heads to achieve an actual 2400 dpi nozzle pitch. Canon's FINE print heads...

Canon Pixma iP6700D (4.5 mice)

The iP6700D printed some of the best photos we've seen out of all the midrange ink-jet printers we've tested. This printer's flexibility, ease of use, affordability, and excellent photo-print quality make it a no-brainer purchase for photographers of...

Prints excellent photos with accurate colors and great shadow detail ; software and control panel offer flexibility and customization options

Faint scratches on some prints ; picture-card cover snaps off too easily

The iP6700D's two input trays should keep your photo papers organized: an automatic sheet feeder holds larger media, and a cassette drawer holds smaller papers. The cassette drawer, located under the printer's output tray, conceals smaller photo papers...

Canon PIXMA iP6700D

Canon's new PIXMA iP6700D photo printer is the successor to the company's iP6600D, one of the best products of 2006. The $349 iP6700D is first and for...

PC-less printing very good

Skin tones a bit bronzed, not so good for printing text

The iP6700D is a good six-ink photo printer with a nice LCD and PC-less printing options. However, iP6600D owners don't need up upgrade unless the improved paper support or Canon-to-Canon feature is on their wish list.

Canon Pixma iP6700D

The Pixma iP6600D proved a strong seller for Canon. Now comes its successor, the Pixma iP6700D.

The iP6700D is a good six-ink photo printer with a nice LCD and PC-less printing options. However, it's not the fastest, and iP6600D owners won't need to upgrade unless the improved paper support or Canon-to-Canon feature is on their wish list.

Canon Pixma iP6700D

After looking at a range of 15x10cm printers it's nice to be back to an A4 offering that is quick, produces excellent output and can also print direct onto CD's, alas it refuses to make the tea.

It is 43x30x18cm and weights close to 7.5kilos. This is a six ink offering and I suspect most would use it for printing photos and this it excels in. However first the details of text pages using my default 200 word document it prints 14PPM in what is...

REVIEW—CANON PIXMA iP6700D printer ]

The Canon Pixma iP6700D is a 6 colour photo printer that appears to be aimed at the digital camera user who would rather not be fussed with a computer and image editing software. The printer has the standard USB interconnect with a computer but it also...

The quality of reproduction from the Canon Pixma iP6700D is stunning. We tried just about every printing medium including photo stickers, double-sided album paper, T shirt transfers, CD labels and good old plain paper and the results were consistently...

We enjoy showing off the infra red connection to sceptical pals — take a photo with the mobile phone, point it at the printer, press the send button and… Wait! 3 minutes and 40 seconds to turn out a single 10 by 15cm print. Boy, that is slow ; Parting...

The Canon Pixma iP6700D is one of those devices that has you wondering how it is possible to get so much for so little. $350 (and advertised for $300 in Livewire) buys a printer that consistently turns out prints comparable in quality with good silver...
