Canon Pixma MP160

The scanner platen is big enough to hold originals up to A4 size, and the lid's hinges rear back to accommodate thick originals, such as textbooks. A PictBridge port on the front of the printer lets you print photos directly from a...

Inexpensive; excellent prints; PictBridge port; relatively cheap printing costs.

Subpar scanning; dearth of features; lacks media card slots.

The entry-level Canon Pixma MP160 is a decent all-in-one printer for the price, but don't be tempted by the entry-level machine: the Pixma MP180 costs a mere $10 more and provides the same print quality and a ton more features.

Price, easy to print from the MP Navigator

Doesn't have a colour-LCD or memory card slot, some streaking when copying in mono

The Canon Pixma MP160's everyday print jobs came out crisp, while scans are above-average but with limited resolution. The lack of a memory card slot could be an important omission.

The entry-level Canon Pixma MP160 is a decent all-in-one printer for the price, but don't be tempted by the entry-level machine: the Pixma MP180 costs a mere AU$20 more and provides the same print quality and a ton more features.

Subpar scanning ; Dearth of features ; Lacks media card slots

Canon provides a one-year limited warranty for the Pixma MP160 that you can extend to three years for AU$99. You can also get tech support via e-mail, and Canon says it will respond within 24 hours. Canon's web site has FAQs, a troubleshooting tool,...

Great for the price

Great for the price, I love it.

It prints fairly fast and has pretty good quality. Best of all, ink for this printer is only $20 for black and $20 for colors. On my old printer, it was about $40 just for the black ink

It is somewhat large and the lcd display on the front only shows the number of copies that will be printed. I thought it showed more than that but I only have myself to blame for not looking into that. If you only have a few papers in it, the papers...
