Canon Pixma MP495 All-in-One review: Canon Pixma MP495 All-in-One

Canon Pixma MP495 All-in-One

Inexpensive all-in-one device with Wi-Fi; easy installation; small footprint; decent quality for photo snapshots.

Slow print speed; ink expensive to replace; lacks Ethernet, LED display, and memory card reader.

If you're shopping for a sub-$100 multifunction printer for intermittent use in your home, the Canon Pixma MP495 will meet your needs. It prints, scans, and copies documents, and the integrated wireless print server means you won't have a bundle of...

Canon Pixma MP495

Priced at $80 (as of September 3, 2010), the Canon Pixma MP495 color inkjet multifunction printer handles printing, copying, and scanning, and currently it costs just $10 more than its cousin, the Canon Pixma MP280. The Pixma MP495 adds wireless...

Exceptional text and image output ; Low purchase price ; Wireless connectivity

Black ink is expensive

This low-priced MFP offers high-class performance and even includes wireless, but supports only rudimentary paper handling.

Canon Pixma MP495 review

More importantly, the 3-in-1 Pixma MP495 is a budget friendly model priced at less than $100 while offering high resolution photos in 46 seconds with a 4800 x 1200 maximum color dpi, built-in wireless connectivity, and Energy Star efficiency

Ease of use ; Low initial cost ; Wireless connectivity

Less vibrant photo color ; Color document pause

As I would tell any perspective buyer before making a purchasing decision: know your budget and then find the best printer in that class. The Canon Pixma MP495 should definitely be considered for those on a tight budget (think less than a $100)

Review: Canon Pixma MP495 multifunction printer

This low-priced MFP offers high-class performance and even includes wireless, but supports only rudimentary paper handling is rudimentary.

Aside from the integrated Wi-Fi connectivity (to complement the unit's USB capability), the Pixma MP495's features are spare. There's no automatic document feeder for the scanner. PC users get manual duplexing help, but Mac users are on their own....

Canon PIXMA MP495 inkjet multifunction printer

This $99 Canon PIXMA printer is good for occasional document and photo printing but don't expect excellent quality or speed

Cheap initial price, inbuilt 802.11n Wi-Fi

High ongoing consumable costs, single-character LED display can be frustrating

If your printing and scanning needs aren't very intensive, the Canon PIXMA MP495 has a low initial price and it has integrated Wi-Fi. Its reasonable print quality makes it a good choice for occasional use, but its inks are expensive.

Canon PIXMA MP495

A good entry-level all-in-one, but with no memory card slots or camera connection. It does have Wi-Fi, though.

Good value, Decent speed, Not the cheapest running costs around

No memory card slot or PictBridge, Some quality niggles with image printing

Canon PIXMA MP495 review

What price Wi-Fi printing? Canon's new MP495 cuts a few corners to reduce the cost

Wi-Fi connectivity is a bonus at the price ; Dual cartridge system makes for simpler stocking of replacements ; Very compact and fairly quiet in operation ; Simple to use in both standalone and computer-connected or Wi-Fi print modes ; All-black finish...

No PictBridge port or card reader slots for direct printing ; No LCD menu screen for advanced standalone print settings ; Running costs with dual cartridge system can be expensive ; Wi-Fi set-up can only be carried out via a connected computer rather...

Canon PIXMA MP495 review

The Canon Pixma MP495 adds wireless connectivity for easier sharing, and ditches the matte-black scanner lid for a shiny one. Otherwise, it has the same strengths and weaknesses as the MP280: extremely nice text and photos, but pricey black ink and...

Although its high black-ink costs will eventually negate your initial savings, that's only with heavy use — something the Canon Pixma MP495 isn't designed for. What it does deliver is outstanding output quality for the price.

Canon - PIXMA MP495

The new Canon PIXMA MP495 is a very smart-looking machine in what is increasingly becoming the chic shade of the moment - shiny piano black. It's a very compact all-in-one offering print, copy and scan functions, ...

Although this is one of the cheapest multifunction printers on the market, offering good print speeds, satisfactory print quality and the bonus of Wi-Fi connectivity, the absence of a decent LCD screen, PictBridge port or memory card slots makes it...
