Pay attention at the back, as this one is a little confusing. Canon makes a printer called the MP495, which it sells on its own website for about £80. However, Canon also has a deal with Dixons Store Group – which includes stores such as Currys and PC...

The Canon Pixma MP499 is a versatile multifunction printer and it’s hard to argue with a price tag of less than £50. However, regular uses will need to watch out as the black ink cartridges push up the running costs a bit.

Standard printing is good. I have not tried any photo printing so I'll give 8/10. Speed is good, if noisy.

It's wifi but doesn't work with iOS (iPad etc.). This is easily fixed with third party software, so I can't see why apple don't make all wifi printers capable of printing from your iOS device. If you want airprint to work and are not sure about...

Auto aligns ink heads - you print a test page, scan it and from scanning the printer knows which lines were printed out of place and auto sets the roller heads. Economy/ fast print doesnt mean bad print quality with this printer and it's so handy...

I'd not say it bothers me personally, but something that is noticeable is when this printer preps to print it sounds like a beast!
