Dell MFP Laser Printer 1600n

Dell's debut into the laser all-in-one printer scene, the MFP Laser Printer 1600n, needs improvement.

Text quality just short of excellent. Built-in fax modem and 50-sheet automatic document feeder to fax, scan, and copy multipage documents.

Slow performance.

Dell 1600n

Most small offices choose laser printers over ink jets hands down-and for good reason: They're fast and cheap and seem to last forever. In general, lasers also cost much less per page to print compared with ink jets (although ink jets often have a...

Slow performance

The Dell MFP Laser Printer 1600n delivers output quality that rates as good for graphics and photos and just short of excellent for text. Unfortunately, performance is surprisingly slow for the 22-page-per-minute laser engine.

Dell Multifunction Laser Printer 1600N

Dell's Multifunction Laser Printer 1600n is a networked printer, copier, flatbed scanner, and fax, yet it has the lowest price of the laser MFPs we tested this month--just $399. Considering its low price, the 1600n impressed us with its performance on...

An optional 250-sheet paper tray, which costs a reasonable $100, boosts the total paper capacity to 500 sheets. The 1600n comes standard with 32MB of memory and can be expanded to a maximum of 160MB. Dell includes a complete and well-written printed...

Service and support

Dell 1600n

Affordable; good print and scan quality; easy to use; includes Ethernet interface.

Can't fax or scan over a network; inconvenient for faxing from a PC.

The Dell 1600n multifunction laser printer mixes single-user and small-office capabilities to one's complete satisfaction.

Mixed Feelings About this Dell 1600n All-in-One!

This Dell 1600n All-in-One Laser Printer has seen a lot of activity in our office. It has been from the Northwest Pacific to New England. It has severed as a network printer and scanner as well as a fax machine and photocopier. This machine is ...

Dell 1600n All-In-One Laser Printer

This is a very defective printer Dell 1600n. I bought a Dell 1600n in July, 2005. The first printer broke down around March, (anoying buzzing noise). Dell replaced it with a new one that never worked. The second printer was replaced by a new one. After...

It is a fast printer. That's it

Defective design. Very likely to break down. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BUY IT

Bought at good price with online coupons

I was lucky and got some pretty good discounts with online coupons so for the $300 or so that I spent, not a bad deal to replace my old inkjet fax machines. I had seen the same problems as some of the other posters. The printing is not all that ...

A lot of features in one package. Does most things well.

Loud fan, scanning software for network is questionable.

Dell 1600n - Poor Choice

Our small office had a leased machine with the "same" functionality, the contract was up and I checked into the Dell 1600n. The savings were huge $298 for the machine + $198 for a 3 yr service agreement vs. $144 a month for our leased machine. The ...

Dell's 1600n - A Poor Choice

As a fan of Dell notebooks, I jumped at the chance to replace my aging all-in-one laser printer with Dell's first entry in the AIO market. The 1600n's attractive gray and black accents on a relatively small, rectangular footprint--compared to its...

Handsome with gray and black accents

Loud! Fan is always on! No sleep mode. Print quality is fair.

A previous review of the Dell 1600n hit the nail on the head. Rather than rehash details of that full and detailed review, just refer to it at http://www.epinions.com/content_169348927108. I had a couple things to ...
