Dell 922 ALL-IN-ONE Photo Printer

Dell's All-in-One 922 uses the same engine, drivers, and case as the Lexmark X5270, and not surprisingly the two models performed almost identically in our tests. Recently Dell dropped the price on 922 from $119 to $79.

The case is small and sleek, but the lid to the flatbed scanner feels flimsy and light. The console offerings are bare-bones; for example, it lacks an LCD panel where you can set the number of copies, change the copy quality settings, and so on. Next...

Dell Photo All-In-One Printer 922

The Dell Photo All-In-One Printer 922 is the only AIO here built around a photo printer engine instead of a standard one.

The 922 is a reasonable choice if you're more interested in photos than documents and spreadsheets, and if you plan to print them in color rather than black and white.

Slow print speed; no media card slots; awkwardly positioned LCD; limited OS compatibility; limited fax ability.

The Dell 922 is an affordable multifunction that excels at copying, scanning, and managing images, but small-office users can do better.

Cheap, fast scan time

Slightly slow image printing, poor colour graphics

This inexpensive MFP would fit well in a home where fast and easy operation is important and image quality is secondary.

Good home printer.

Great scanner. Easy to set up. Ink cartridges are very easy to install.

Expensive cartridges are only available through Dell. Ink messes up sometimes.

Don't let Dell send you this piece of junk.

This printer is a disaster. Like some of the other suckers here, I received it "free" with my Dimension desktop computer (which I am fairly happy with, although getting rid of the junk software and constant embedded sales pitches was incredibly ...

It came free with the computer. Scans are fine, good quality.

Constantly jams & misfeeds, and frequent demands for expensive new ink cartridges.
