Epson AcuLaser CX11NF

Inexpensive ; Speedy

Tricky network setup ; Large ; Some features are PC-only

This peppy MFP delivers fast speeds and high image quality at a low price, but lacks office-friendly features.

Epson AcuLaser CX11NF

Epson isn't new to laser technology, but until now, the company has concentrated on ink jets in the U.S. and sold its lasers elsewhere. This is about to change, with the introduction of the Epson AcuLaser CX11NF ($799.99 direct). The laser has a...

High-quality output. Fast performance. Prints and scans over a network. Standalone copier and fax machine. Includes Ethernet connector and 50-page ADF

Can't fax from a PC. Network installation isn't as smooth as it should be. Driver is more appropriate for an ink jet than a laser

Epson's first U.S. color laser, the AcuLaser CX11NF, delivers fast performance, good-looking output, and most of the features you'll need in an all-in-one printer. But its network installation could be better.

Epson AcuLaser CX11NF multi-function printer

The Epson AcuLaser CX11NF has it all: color laser printer, sheetfed scanner, a copier with networking capabilities and a built-in fax machine. Aside from the somewhat complicated network setup, this inexpensive color laser multifunction printer...

Inexpensive ; speedy

Large ; tricky network setup ; some features are PC-only

While I was testing the CX11NF in the lab, several passing Macworld editors made the same comment: "What is that thing?" Looking like a compact color laser printer, but with a scanner and sheet feeder stuck on top, this unit is pretty large. In fact,...

Epson AcuLaser CX11NF

Despite heavy inroads being made by colour inkjets, laser printers are still the only way to go for high-volume printing in an office environment. The...

Fast, high-quality printing; colour

180-sheet paper tray, no memory card slots

Epson's AcuLaser CX11NF rolls the functions of a scanner, copier, fax machine and printer into a single device. Good output quality and ease of use help make it attractive to small businesses, and make it easier to overlook the lack of memory card slot...

Epson Aculaser CX11NF

Colour laser multifunction device If that old black-and-white photocopier in the office is on its last legs, now would be a good time to look a replacing it with a colour laser multifunction device: one of the new breed of cheap and fast colour lasers...

Epson's Aculaser CX11NF is a good example. Built around a 25ppm mono, 5ppm colour laser printer, the CX11NF has a scanner/fax unit mounted above the printer. The 600dpi scanner (with a software-enhanced resolution of 9,600dpi), provides PC- and...

Horror Show

Sounds great .

Based on my experience, getting a good unit is a problematic and installing the toner is nearly impossible.

Wonderful unit

COmpared to HP's overpriced units, this one covers everything I could have ever wanted.

Unit is very fast and has the best feature to price ratio compared to HP. Toner is NOT hard to install and actually was easier than some HP units I've worked with! I bought one of these for myself at home and have recommended it already to one happy...

No PC based faxing; paper seems to print at a slight 2-3 degree angle than what is considered straight. However this does not show on a client's printer, so this must be just my unit

Good All-In-One Color Laser

Have had this since Nov 2006 - good solid printer.

As noted, the initial installation of the toner was a little confusing, but, figured it out.

Solid performer

I hope the toner shipped with the unit are "starter" - the said "standard capacity" on them. They are not lasting long at all, so if they are true 1500 page "standard" capacity, this is going to be an expensive unit to run. If they are only...

Build quality is excellent; Print quality is very good, even on photos; Scanner is fast and good quality; Scanner high above paper output bin; Not one paper jam yet; LCD control panel backlight is good and easy to read, controls easy to use

Big & Heavy; Not as fast as newer single-pass printers; No duplex capabilities at all, either in printing, or scan/copy with ADF - not even as an add-on option; paper capacity small unless you buy extra tray; No "Fit to page" copy mode that scans...
