Epson Stylus Photo RX580

Though its emphasis is on photos, the Epson Stylus Photo RX580 also prints, scans, copies, and prints on optical discs.

High-quality output, particularly for photos. Prints from cameras and memory cards. Prints on optical discs.

Relatively slow. No fax features. No scan to e-mail feature. No automatic document feeder.

The Epson Stylus Photo RX580 prints great photos and reasonably good text and graphics. But it's slow, and it's limited strictly to printing, scanning, and copying.

Epson Stylus Photo RX580

Epson's all-in-one performs well as a scanner and photo printer, but falls short on quality for other general-purpose tasks.

Prints directly onto CDs, Disappointing print quality

Archives to USB devices, Slow print speeds

This model is easy-to-use but fails to offer any outstanding features to make up for its mediocre print quality.

Epson Stylus Photo RX580 (4mice)

The Epson Stylus Photo RX580 may not have all of the features that some multifunction printers offer, but if you're looking for a great photo printer that happens to have a good quality copier and scanner built in, then consider the RX580.

Superior photo quality ; produces smudge-, water-, and fade-resistant prints ; includes memory card slots and PictBridge for computer-free printing ; good range of software scanning options ; handy control panel

Lacks wireless networking, fax, and transparency adapters

Although it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some MFPs (such as wireless networking, fax capabilities, or transparency adapters), the RX580 does have card slots that accept a range of camera memory card types (CompactFlash, Memory Stick, SD,...

Awesome Printer - but

I have always owned Epson printers and stand by their products.

The first time I printed something I nearly jumped from my seat because it is so loud! I'm use to it now, but do not expect silence when printing.

The best all-in-one I've ever owned

I have owned 4 different all-in-one printers and this, by far, is my very favorite. My last one, an HP 6110, performs miserably at scanning photos and puts lines in the scans. I have relegated it to, mainly, a fax machine and this RX280 is my new best...

Excellent print & scan quality, great scanner utility software, disc printing on an all-in-one, compatible ink available

I haven't found any yet

Absolutely Great

This all in one printer fullfills all your expectations. LCD displays allows operation without computer

A tad noisey. Ink cartridges seem very small

Ups And Downs

I would have bought a seperate printer and scanner if I had the room. The seperate devices would definitely have their advantages over this.

The print quality and speed of printing photos is unbeatable. Built in card reader makes printing from a digital camera easy. Can print and make copies without a computer connected to it

RMA'd the first one because it would not detect the ink cartridges, no matter what I did. The second one had the same problem, until I it powered off and on. Now it's magically ok but I'm still nervous. Scan options are not as good as regular scanners....

Potential Ink Hog

CD/DVD tray does not insert cleanly, needs a "jiggle" to position properly.

High quality prints only good thing.

I almost returned the printer when I found out the scanner was disabled. If I need the same thing in the future I know to buy a separate scanner I guess. I would still buy an Epson printer though.

The photo prints are perfect. Surprisingly fast

Wont scan when you are out of ink ; The only reasonable explanation for this would be greed, to prevent your all-in-one from fully functioning until you buy high-profit-margin cartridges. The windows software is unstable
