HP Laserjet P1005

A decent effort by HP

Good quality printing, easy toner replacement

Somewhat slow, relatively expensive

HP’s LaserJet P1005 puts its best foot forward. But it’s crippled with slower performance and a more expensive price point than the Brother HL-2140. It’s a good printer, but it simply isn’t competitive enough.

Great low-use laser

Great, compact printer that seems ready to last years.

Don't print much, just wanted something other than an inkjet. NewEgg had a great price and free shipping so even if the replacement toner costs more than I paid for the printer, they'll last me ages. Stock toner, while not as big as the retail...

Hard to find any so long as your needs are similar to mine. Lack of network connectivity is a bummer but understandable given the price point

Excellent!

Considering this is a laser printer, the price can't be beat. I've seen and used black and white Inkjet printers well over the price of this Laser Printer, and they fail in comparison to this one.

Amazing! Especially for the price! I've been testing the ink cartridge that came with it, and i am well over 500+ pages of printed pictures and text ; The clarity of the prints are very good, and can be set to print at a higher resolution if needed ;...

Not a color laser printer ; Toner is a bit on the pricey side. But well worth it for the pages it prints, and clarity

Love it

The person who thinks this is a deskjet really does not know printers. I got it for $50 new and I would not expect a cable, network adaptor, or magic dust. This is a cheap HP which does what it needs to do, print clear and very nice.

UPGRADE

Clean clear printing

Don't waste your money on this printer and upgrade a few dollars to a higher quality one. I had customers waiting 3-4 minutes for a document to print on this slug. This was hooked up to a newer computer, so the issues sare with HP. I bought a HP P2015...

Amazing Value

Far exceeded my expectations given the price.

Easy install. Quick. Emulates grayscale via dither rather well. Quick warmup. Not TOO loud. Drivers do not include the usual HP bloat/overhead

No network option. If they threw an Rj45 jack and internal print server on this thing it would be perfect. Slight curl to pages after they come through. Does not affect anything as even if printing double sided they go back through curl-down and feed fine

I guess they were trying to cut down the price.

Cheap, and its a laserjet

NO connection cable. I am being told by technical support that it is sold separately. NO manual, althought you don't really need to read much about a printer

i need to get rid of my old PSC printer because it was just a waste because i never used it and this printer has saved my roommates three time in the last couple of weeks because their printers had trouble

Perfect Home Printer

As mentioned, it doesn't come with a cable but I already had a suitable USB cable on hand from my last printer. It takes the kind that ends in a larger "U" shaped plug (type "B" to be technical). I got it on sale here at Newegg, excellent deal.

Compact size saves a lot of space on my desk. I just close up the paper tray when I'm not going to be printing and store my paper elsewhere. It warms up fast and prints quickly. Print quality is great. I will be using it for occasional home printing -...

Installation was a little bit of a hassle. No real printed instructions, the driver disk plays a flash show to illustrate where all the packing materials are hidden in the printer. It was a bit dumbed down, really
