HP Photosmart C4180

While the initial look at the Photosmart C4180 boasts similarities to the Lexmark X5470, there's a lot more to this printer than meets the eye.

LCD panel with easy to use controls and options for printing, scanning and copying, fast, reasonable print quality, holder for photo-print sized paper

Silly design flaw which causes unfocussed edges on paper larger than A4, scanning position unexpectedly reversed, minor print banding

This limitation is the C4180's near-fatal flaw. When an item to be scanned is not weighted the edges of the scan are fuzzy and out of focus. This is, frankly, silly and hard to ignore. If you can live with that fiddly inconvenience, the C4180 has a lot...

HP - Photosmart C4180

The HP Photosmart C4180 is exactly the sort of multi-function device that you might consider for the home or small office. It's a twin-cartridge inkjet printer with a scanner on top that also gives copy features. ...

Although the Photosmart C4180 is a smart and stylish printer with a decent list of features, we were unimpressed by the quality of its printed output. That criticism is a real surprise for an HP printer and it surpasses any considerations about the...

HP Photosmart C4180

This Multifunction+printers.html">All In One is functional in design however when the job is to print, scan and copy appearance is less important than delivering the goods and this it does with the added plus of six ink quality.

The is a rectangular box, 32x27x15cm and when the paper tray is lowered with paper in it the middle figure increases by another 15cm. However I am not decrying it for being rectangular or functional it does it's job well so what does shape matter. It...

great upgrade

again with that paper thing you just have to load it ever so slightly. if you go too far in it will pull it thru. anyway i bought this as a replacement for an older model that died for my aunt. shes not too tech savy so i needed something easy to use...

great features, easy to use, ability to function without a pc, OK ink prices

Good MF printer

Good all-around multifunction printer. Easy setup but don't use the drivers that ship with the printer if your using Vista. Download them from the net. Simple layout and manuals ; Scans, copies, and prints well

Inkjet printer for color can be very expensive. Cheaper to go to the closest 24-hour film developer than to use these types of printers for photos

The Achilles' Heel

Is inexpensive, compact, has an handy color adjustable LCD screen, and an equally handy multi-purpose card reader and prints quickly, quietly, and with excellent quality, although it does tend to over-saturate the paper with ink when it comes to images

The single more infuriating thing about the printer, and the reason why I regret ever having bought it, is the paper feed. One has to literally feed it one sheet at a time, otherwise it jams. It doesn't matter if you have one sheet or thirty, it will...

Give me back my 10 year old HP

Save yourself the hassle and buy a 144 pack of Crayons. It will be less frustrating.

With these multi-function devices HP has seem to forgotten the purpose of a printer. TO PRINT! My 10 year old HP 822C does a better job of feeding / loading the paper. The new HP's come with loads of software for the mentally handicap. I just want a...

Better than expected

I think I have not even come close to finding this device's true potential.

Arived quickly. Set up was simple. Best of all my linux, PCLinux 2007, recognized the printer (and scanner) immediately. No downloads or CD drivers are required. I bought the device for its verstility as a printer; I need something that prints photos...

I have to get rid of my old scanner. It comes with two CDS, one for mac one for win. I don't need either

Awesome

Comes with photo paper!

Works the way a printer/scanner should

for some reason the ink runs low a bit fast, or the ink indicator could just be exaggerating. also, whenever i plugged it into my old computer, it would reboot out of no where. luckily, i had another computer which i needed the printer for anyway and...
