HP Photosmart D5160 photo printer

Whether you're looking to produce some attractive CDs or DVDs, print some photos to pin on your wall, or print essays every now and then, the low-cost, versatile Photosmart D5160 will do the trick.

Fast ; Very good text and color-document quality ; Easy and convenient CD/DVD printing ; Inexpensive ; Attractive design

Photos are oversharpened ; Reds look dark ; Control panel and included software have irksome limitations

The D5160should take you no longer than five minutes to set up. The printer’s ink carriage holds only two cartridges, which are easy to snap into place. After connecting the device via USB 2.0, installing the software, and loading some media, you're...

HP Photosmart D5160

This is the only A4 model we looked at that has memory card slots on its exterior in addition to a PictBridge connection. Plus, the HP boasts a mono LCD status panel. It can't be used for browsing thumbnails, but it's still handy for conveying general...

The HP Photosmart D5160 is a fairly economical printer that produces good-quality results at a moderate speed. A decent effort overall, but not quite up there with the Canon.

HP Photosmart D5160

This is grey and cream in colour inkjet printer. It's rather low slung and could even be acceptable in the lounge. Also, it is quite quiet when in use, even in economy mode.

The Hewlett Packard is 43x35x14cm, paper is stored face down in the base and delivered face up on top of the paper storage tray so no extra space is required. There is also a built in 15x10cm paper tray that photo paper can be left stored (face down)...

Great Printer for CDs/DVDs

Some people have complained about the printer's tray scratching DVD's. While I've not had that problem, I decided to be proactive and follow another user's suggestion to put a blank CD Label Sticker onto the tray to provide a clean, smooth surface for...

Simply put, this is a GREAT printer -- especially for CD's and DVD's. That's the main reason I bought it -- we have a business involving producing custom DVD Slideshows. The results we've achieved from the D5160 rival most professional printers, at a...

Anyone who complains about the lousy CD Label software included with this printer is obviously a computer novice. There's no need to purchase some other Label-Making program, unless you really don't know how to create a printable layout in the programs...

great deal!!!

Highly recommend for the CDs and for regular printing. I printed some 4 x 6's and 5 x 7's and they looked good also. The printer isnt bad, but if you print alot, then i would recommend a laser, really no inkjet could keep, so I have to have both.

Well simply put, this thing is nice! I picked up the inkjet CD's and DVD's and they look really nice. Its not perfect but it looks great for the marketing material for our company. For just black and white I use a lower quality and the printer is fast!...

First off, do not install the disk with the printer, go to HP's site and get simply the driver and the roxio labeler software. Your computer will thank me. I have a very good laptop - c2d 2.2ghz - 3gigs ram - 8600m gt Video card - and the c**p software...

Poor driver support

This just sealed the deal, last HP printer I will ever buy.

Nothing

unit arrived just fine. Tried to install the drivers and kept getting an error on the last drive. Uninstalled and installed a downloaded driver for the same unit with the same error. Tried it on another computer with the same problem. No work around...

Great printer--- Buy it!!!

It looks like HP has discontinued this item. Probably do to copyright infrindgements. If you want a nice cd/dvd inkjet printer, get it now. Don't wait as they will soon be gone. Uses generic HP ink cartridges.

I've used the Espon R220 for printing CDs and DVDs. The ink for the Epson was more than the cost of the printer, plus the print head kept clogging ; With the HP, the printing was fast and crisp. The ink costs much less and you get a new printhead with...

Its not as compact as the espon counter part and the software is not as flexable, but it is very usable

No Issues

Yes, it is loud but that does not make it a bad printer. The software is does not give you a lot of choices in printing, but hey, it's bundled software and for the price it works just fine. Got mine for half price at a local office supply store, but...

A good basic photo printer. Software takes a little time to get used to, is basic, but you can't expect professional software in a bundle. Paper and CD/DVD feed has been flawless during the almost 1 year I've been using it. Ink consumption is much...

Trying to set various default settings was challenging. There is not a lot of guidance in the manual
