Lexmark X5470 review: Lexmark X5470

Lexmark X5470

Inexpensive; nice range of features; built-in memory card slots and PictBridge port; fast text prints; decent scan quality; built-in ADF.

Poor to mediocre print quality; slow copy speed; very limited paper handling options.

The Lexmark X5470 offers loads of features and respectable print speeds at a low price, but its print quality leaves a lot to be desired. You can find a similarly priced all-in-one that offers better print quality.

Although the X5470 is attractively priced, it is only recommended for those who don't have serious photo- and colour-printing needs.

Lexmark X5470 All-in-One Review

As for using Photo mode for photos: An 8 by 10-inch print on inkjet paper took 92 seconds and looked fair. The same print on glossy photo paper took 5 minutes and 7 seconds with four-color and 5 minutes and 40 seconds with six-color printing. The...

If you need a cheap combination of printer, scanner, fax, and copier for a home office in which speed and quality are of no concern, the Lexmark X5470 could be a good choice. But if you need to make a good impression, consider spending a little more...

Low price, built-in fax and automatic document feed

Lexmark X5470 review

This printer is more 'all in one' than most

Clever paper auto-sensing ; It is cheap

Wonky printing ; Smudging ; Poor photo quality prints ; Slow print speeds

Its features are the selling point but the overall quality lets it down

Lexmark X5470 All–in-One printer

All-in-one printers, scanners, copiers and fax machines are one of the best ways to go if you need all the devices on offer but suffer from a lack of desk space. The X5470 may not be particularly small but it looks quite nice thanks a clean and stylish...

Price, range of features, design, good photo output with additional six-ink cartridge, an attractive design and excellent sub £100 make this great value for money

Photo printing is slow and very mediocre with “basic” four-ink print cartridge, ADF jams too easily

With or without the optional Ethernet networking solution (available for another £50) the X5470 is certainly worth a look. There are a few faster – or better quality output-producing machines – on the market but they are pricier (just). This is a...

Lexmark X5470

Cheap to buy and run, the X5470 is great for mono printing, but less so for photos and images.

Terrible

The printer wouldn't work on TWO of my computers! (There was definately no problem with the computers). The software refused to install/ detect the printer. I got it to work on an old laptop that we never use, so while I tested its printing and...

The camera and memory card inputs are cool. (However, you will not use them after you discover how annoying the printer is with ink).

It doesn't work most of the time, the ink is extremely expensive compared to other brands, it is very annoying.

Easy to install

Instruction manual though extensive is not very clear to a novice like me. I am still struggling to use certain aspects.
