The Lexmark P450 offers home users the convenience of printing from a wide variety of media sources and doesn't require a PC to use. It is let down by slow printing, slow burning and the cost of additional adapters.

Our draft prints exhibited severe banding issues which made it good for only preview purposes. Do note that while printing borderless pictures, the printer does crop the edges of your image. Don't be surprised that if your head is exactly along the top...

The P450 is a great starter model that, with better print quality and speed, would have gained a Gold award. Unfortunately, decent print quality on a compact photo printer is a must-have.

Despite its shortcomings in terms of print speed and burn times to CD, the P450 is a versatile standalone printer and hopefully, if Lexmark keeps faith with the concept, print quality, print speed and burn speed should improve in future models.

This is a rather expensive way of buying a printer with limited flexibility - it's not like you can also connect it to your PC and print the occasional letter.
