Lexmark T430 printer review: Lexmark T430 printer

Lexmark T430 printer

Excellent text and graphics output; peppy speed; built-in duplexer, pleasant and sturdy design; great drivers; rich features.

Extra memory is outrageously expensive; maximum paper capacity limited to 1,100 sheets.

Excellent print quality, speed, and add-ons make this a great monochrome laser printer for a fast-paced office.

Lexmark E220

Essentially the twin of the Dell Personal Laser Printer, the Lexmark E220 is one of four $200 printers we tested.

The Lexmark E220 is as good if not a better buy than the Dell unit, even with the Lexmark printer's lower base memory. The cheaper purchase price (of the printer itself, not the consumables) and faster performance can save you time and money.

Lexmark T420d - printer - monochrome - laser review: Lexmark T420d - printer - monochrome - laser

Lexmark T420d - printer - monochrome - laser

Comes with clear, easy-to-follow setup documentation; has both parallel and USB 2.0 ports; offers a wide range of drivers for just about every major OS; prints relatively quickly.

Marginal output quality with graphics and small fonts; problematic telephone support; not much memory.

Despite this laser's speed and high duty cycle, its meager memory and poor output make it hard to recommend.

Lexmark T420d Review

A fast, fairly compact laser with automatic duplex printing for under $650, Effortless, hands-off operation; first-rate driver and network management software included

Merely 600 by 600 dpi resolution; merely 250-sheet paper tray, Price jumps to $1,099 for Ethernet model

Even more impressive, almost addictive, is the duplexing capability available as easily as clicking either a "long edge" or "short edge" button (indicating your binding or stapling plans) in the driver: Printed (face-down) pages are ejected halfway...

Lexmark is a workhorse.

I feel the price of the cartridge is too expensive and I can buy a new printer every year for the amount of cartridges I purchase during the year
