Oki C3400n review

Small-office users generally need a printer that is fast, networkable, cost efficient, and excellent with text prints. This usually means they are in the market for a laser printer. The Oki C3400n fits the bill, though it's not without its downsides....

Superspeedy color prints; excellent quality with black text; straight pass-through; network ready; expandable memory; 24/7 customer support.

Paper capacity is not expandable; no duplexer; color prints are on the pricey side.

The Oki C3400n laser printer is networkable and fast with color prints, but its paper-handling options are limited, and like all lasers, its color prints are pricey and prone to errors.

The C3400n from Oki Data delivers good speed and acceptable output quality at a low price.

Fast. Ethernet connection. Reasonably good text and graphics quality.

Shiny toner reflects light, making text hard to read from some angles in some lighting conditions.

Oki C3400n colour laser printer

The Oki Printing Solutions C3400n is a low-end model in Oki's family of networked colour laser printers.

We like the Oki C3400n's high-quality text printing, fast colour printing and relatively compact size, but the operating costs are steep.

A fast printer let down by high running costs and few features

That’s not to say it’s a bad printer, though. The quality of its prints isn’t stunning but it’s perfectly acceptable, both with plain text and images, and the speed is even more impressive. It churned out our 50-page mono letter in a quick 2mins...
