Xerox WorkCentre 6505DN

 

The Xerox WorkCentre 6505DN scores well on paper handling, speed, output quality, and features.

Prints, scans, and faxes from PC, including over a network. Standalone copier, fax, and e-mail sender. Duplexer.

Bypass tray holds only one sheet of paper. Faxing from a PC is harder than it should be.

Xerox's WorkCentre 6505/DN offers better speed and print quality than many colour laser multifunction printers we've seen, for a good midrange price.

Nice Printing, not so good for scanning

 

I was hoping this printer one be the one to rule them all but looks as though I'll have to dust off the old HP Photosmart for use as a network scanner.

Great quality color printing. Lots of features handy for a SOHO. Easy to setup. Good price.

Simple Scan in Ubuntu will not recognize the scanner. Neither will xsane. This is a real downer. This printer would have been perfect for our use if it would only allow desktop scanning in linux.

Xerox 6507

 

Be mindful, this is a heavy printer. Check to make sure your table can handle the weight ... the double sided printing of this unit saves gobs of time!

I took this out of the box (two sets of hands required!) plopped it onto the table, zipped the shipping tabs out (and there were LOTS!), powered it up, set it up for the network and phone system and POOF! I was up in running, Total install time, 20...

None ... it is a great workhorse
