Xerox Phaser 6180MFP/N

The Xerox Phaser 6180MFP/N prints, scans, and works as a standalone copier, fax machine, and e-mail sender.

Fast. High-quality text. Reasonably high-quality graphics. Good paper handling.

Scanning over a network is harder to set up than it should be. Fax-from-PC feature is hidden in the driver.

Xerox Phaser 6180MFP Color Laser Multifunction Printer

This higher-end color laser MFP offers good performance and features, but it's not for the budget-conscious.

Very fast at printing text ; Very good design ; good print quality

Expensive ; Slow at printing graphics ; costly toner

The Phaser 6180MFP is a well-designed machine with a few notable shortcomings. An office that needs to generate decent graphics should still consider it seriously--it's the best model we've seen so far at that task--but it's an expensive proposition...

Xerox 6180

This printer is TALL. I had the printer set on a typical table and the platen is at my eye level and I'm 5'8". The menus can be a bit confusing and I don't like how most of the control panel items are not available on the web interface. This is...

Color scanning and printing look decent. I like the ability to scan in multiple formats to a network share. Print speed seems decent and first page out time is good. Works with Xerox PCL universal printer driver

When I first set up the 6180, the printer was set to use mm and A4 papers which I set to inch and letter. I thought it was a bit unusual but nothing more. I later found the country setting was UK but the setting was not obvious until dug into one of...

Excellent Printer

Memory upgrade is a must and will cost you $15. Takes 2 minutes to accomplish. For some reason, USB works very slow, may take some time to print a large complex document. Also, I bought a heavy duty cartridge for 6,000 pages as well. It's ourageously...

Great printer. B/w printing is fast and quality is outstanding, when printing the b/w graphics - adjust the brightness level to +2 brighter. B/w starter cartridge was enough to print about 1,500 pages of mixed text/graphics and some toner is still...

It might not be that huge as some older Xerox printing stations, but the printer is large indeed. It's not a Con as construction is good and logic. Also, the box comes fixed on a wooden palette, and it's dimensions dictate the need to get help from...

Finally.

Over the last so many years, I've gone the route of purchasing some of the cheaper AIOs out on the market. Nothing but pure frustration. Paper jams, fax malfunctions, expensive frequent consumable purchases, curled paper, etc. Too much time wasted...

I purchased the Xerox 6180MFP about five weeks ago. Here are my findings ; 1. Build Quality - Excellent. It's a solid, consumer/SOHO AIO. Well packed. Mine came on a nifty pallet that I still use ; 2. Print Quality - Excellent for business...

1. Web Interface - A bit primitive. It doesn't seem to offer access to all of the options available via the keypad menus. It's not bad though. Just need to be enhanced a bit. (If they upgrade the web interface, I'd give it 5 stars!)

Great network capabilities

Only a print driver is required on each PC. Nice clean install. To use network scanning, you create a share on your PC, then configure the Xerox to drop the scans into this folder. Couldn't be easier. We previously had an HP, but that required so much...

Excellent (honking huge) multi-function printer

Spring for a 1GB DDR2-667 SO-DIMM when you buy the printer. It really speeds up rendering complicated documents.

Fast print rates, easy to set up. Bright rich colors, almost as fast as black and white. Duplex unit means less paper waste. PC and Mac drivers for both printing and scanning are included, and both work well on both platforms. (Mac drivers tend to get...

This printer is massive. Be sure to have someone to help maneuver this monstrosity into place. It took the place of a (large) inkjet MFP and is about three times its size. That said, it feels solid and not a toy like the inkjet. Wish I didn't have to...
