Xerox does not stand behind product

This device - from day one - had an issue with the door closing completely. Unfortunately Xerox did not stand behind the device, meaning I'm stuck with a $700 printer (and $450 in toner) which jams on a regular basis. The documentation says there are...

Linux Impressions

You get a lot of little pamphlets with different titles, but with exactly the same content. The main documentation is a PDF on the enclosed CD. It's not bad.

A cheap, solidly built, printer with good output

A very, very tall printer that "thinks" a while before printing complex documents

great printer!

works fine as a network printer on osx (leopard and tiger), make sure to reboot your network so it will be found.

great full duplex printer. pretty fast, not too loud, color is better than other people described. it does handle 60lb cardstock (and many other types of paper) you just have to change the paper settings on board (i'm not sure you can do it through...

it doesn't have the best documentation, but you can print a very clear menu list to help you get around ; ships with the lower volume printer cartridges (2,000 sheet)

Great printer for the money

I am using this printer under WinXP and Win2k. Unless you are an expert in the Windows ICM color management system, be sure to DISABLE the Windows ICM color management (Print->Preferences->Advanced->Image Options->Image Color...

Very good value for the price paid. Print quality for B/W and color is excellent when the driver is set up properly (see below)

great printer, lousy documentation

The driver seems to include options for job accounting (tracking printer usage by project or per user). However, it's not documented anywhere. I contacted Xerox tech support twice, and both times the techs seemed to know little more about the product...

Low cost of operation, great quality, tons of features, easy network setup

Documentation is very sparse, even on Xerox's website

Best of the Phaser 6xxx Series

To Tom from Long Beach...

Excellent color, great quality, fast printing, duplexing without the need for a rear add-on duplexer (yes, duplexing is slower this way, but it is less bulky and better power consumption with the internal duplexer)

Nothing major

Best of the Phaser 6xxx Series

To Tom from Long Beach... Vista drivers have been out for this model since August. Try looking on Xerox's webpage under PHASER 6180 DRIVERS & DOWNLOADS... (Better yet, upgrade to Windows XP!) :)

Customer Support (6100DN)

Fast (once it's woken up and warmed up). Decent color for a laser

Sllloooww to wake up and warm up. Slow duplexer system (spit page out and pull it back in to do second side). Toner requires proprietary chip change on cartridge if refilled (can be purchased elsewhere but adds cost to each refill). Vista drivers not...
