Good Printer

I've had this printer for 3 months now and up until today, I would have given it 5 stars. Today I discovered the "starter" toner cartridges that came with the printer. (At least I hope they are starter cartridges!) I had perhaps printed out 800 bw...

I love just about everything about this printer. While the photo printing may not rival some of the better ink jets out there, I've been very happy with the quality of both BW and Color photo printouts.

The Color toner cartridges that come with the printer are close to worthless!

OUTRAGEOUS? I think not

As for the poster who said the toner is outrageous I beg to differ. A simple search here on the egg will show your numbers are a bit misleading. Hi Cap (8000 page) black at UNDER $200 normal color at under $100 you can refit the entire machine for less...

Great speed, great text and graphics. As some have mentioned once you get color managment configured correctly this is a solid solid printer for the money. We use this for all my wifes realestate printing needs and it was the best money spent. Though I...

paper path is a bit convoluted and will wrinkle envelopes and produce a nice curve in heavy card stock.

Great but use caution!

BEWARE: The price for hi-capacity (5000) page toner is TWICE the price of the machine and regular capacity is almost as much. NO 3rd party/refill/generic toner available yet due to proprietary chip. The is toner that should cost no more than $60 per...

Fast, inexpensive PRINTER, great output.

Toner cost is OURAGEOUS and the starter toner you get with the printer prints very little.

Phaser 6180

Easy unpacking and setup. Quick setup guide is easy to follow. This printer was unpacked and running on my network in less than 1 hour. First page prints quickly and the printer is quiet. Text and graphics output are good.

The shipping box is very large and the printer is heavy. It appears that the printer manual in English is not found on the enclosed CD. I had to download the manual from the Xerox website.

Great Printer -- Xerox Cheating on Rebate??

I've been trying to apply for the rebate, but Xerox web site keeps telling me that "There are no current records for the product you purchased." I've read & re-read the $50 rebate offer, and this should apply to my purchase.

Very easy and fast setup, good price. Good ethernet network support, and the built-in web-based configuration is rich.

Not great for photo quality.

Great Value for Home Laser Printer

While researching printers, I found a $50 rebate from Xerox on the 6180N and 6180DN. Don't count on any rebates from Xerox. Read the Terms. Their website states "Xerox Corporation ("Xerox") will mail the rebate check directly to the end-user customer...

Great single pass, fast laser printer for home use. Setup was easy. Text print-outs are sharp. Photos on plain paper or labels are OK but, obviously better on an Ink-Jet Printer. Newegg comes through as ALWAYS!! My printer arrived in 3 days - free...

Photo quality could be better. Don't expect rebates from Xerox.

Excellent home printer!

The set up was very easy. I gave it a static IP in my home subnet. And in 10 minutes I had all 5 of my computers printing to it. The first page color time is super quick. Its the best printer for the price and performance at home. I can print color...

Haven't bought new cartridges yet, but I assume they wont be dirt cheap like inkjet toner.

Great Value

Toner is not as readily available as I would have expected.

Set up was clear, easy to understand and did not have any problems. Copies come out faster than expected and colors are vivid and sharp.

The only issue and it's minor, would be that there were multiple copies of instructions included and they to be sorted for the one for this country and latest printing.

Big Dog Printing at a Puppy Price

The already-generous 128MB memory is expandable up to an additional gig using a single DDR2-667 (PC5200) SO-DIMM slot. Commodity RAM works; no need for the official Xerox module that costs literally 10 to 20 times as much. By the way, I'm amazed that...

The best overall value in a workhorse home color laser. I did pretty extensive research and read every review, both consumer and journalist. It is without peer in the sub-five hundred, single-pass category. The build is sturdy and the heft is like an...

When I bought, the 6180DN was an additional two bills. The premium for the 6180DN is shrinking. Buying now, I'd spring for the duplexer. Color prints of photos are not as good as a brand new inkjet on high quality paper. Forget the low mechanical whine...

Great Small Laser Printer

The 6180N is a great workgroup or home laser printer. 26ppm is black and white simplex print speed, but the full color simplex speed is 21ppm which is great for this class of printer.

The 6180N doesn't include the optional Duplexer addon.
