3M Pocket Projector MP180

The 3M Pocket Projector MP180 can show images from its internal memory or a microSD card as well as from computers and video sources.

Reasonably bright. Can show images from computers, composite video sources, internal 4GB memory, or microSD card.

Icon-based touch-screen controls and flashing LED codes are not intuitive. Expensive. Some important glitches in unit as tested.

3M MP180

3M's MP180 takes the pocket projector to a new level, at least in feature terms. Plus it's very, very cool...

Superb file/format flexibility, Touchscreen interface, Decent battery life

Picture quality only average, No 'quick menu return' button, No remote as standard

3M MP180 Review

Pocket sized projectors have become very popular over the last couple of years and the main reason why one opts for them is nothing but because of their size.

The 3M MP180 is available in India at a market operating price of Rs. 29,990. The projector does well in terms of design and build quality but where it excels is in the feature lists. On paper the specifications look very impressive and they deliver on...

3M MP180 Pocket Projector

The MP180 presents excellent images, but a sub-par touchscreen makes many of its advanced features less useful than they could be.

Bluetooth ; Wi-Fi ; Inbuilt web browser

Lacks HDMI input ; Touchscreen is terrible ; Tripod tips over easily if power is plugged in ; Web browser is only just functional ; Inbuilt fan can be quite noisy

As a projector, the MP180 is excellent. Even in brightly lit rooms it presents images well, and, while it's on the large side for what we'd call a "pocket" projector, we can forgive this, given the quality of its images. The inclusion of Wi-Fi and...

3M MP180 Pocket Projector

The MP180 is a light, pocket-sized projector capable of realising even sophisticated presentations. It stores video, music, and data files, provides Internet access via Wi-Fi, and can be connected to other devices via Bluetooth. The touch-screen allows...

3M MP180 Pocket Projector

The 3M MP180 has a touchscreen, apps and built-in WiFi - surely it's the perfect pocket projector? Unfortunately, Jim Martin discovers that it's far from perfect in our review.

It's commendable that 3M has gone further with the MP180 than any other pico projector before it, but the price reflects this. Given the unusable web browser, relatively poor image quality and whiny fan, Samsung's SP-H03 is still the better choice. It...

Review: 3M MP180 Mini Projector

Whether you call them micro, pico, tiny or hand-held; small projector technology has been growing rapidly for the past four years. Yet, it's taken US tech giant 3M to finally deliver what could be called the finest pico projector available.

small, fast, easy set up and decent enough picture as long as you darken the room

dodgy menu screen, battery life

The only gripe I have about the MP-180 is that it could have had a better menu screen. The screen does work - if you have long fingernails, a love of monochrome displays and the patience of a saint.

REVIEW: 3M PocketProjector MP180

3M launched its first pocket projector in 2008. Since then it has been busy miniaturising its hardware and software that can project digital images onto any nearby viewing surface. An important design characteristic of a handheld projector is the...

The MP180 is an attractive hand-held projector package for the on-the-go business professional. It’s compact and well built, and with its built-in memory and memory card slot you can probably leave your laptop at the office. The touchscreen control...

3M PocketProjector MP180 review

The 3M PocketProjector MP180 is a portable handheld projector designed for business users who regularly give presentations.

Capable of projecting without a laptop, reasonable battery life

Poor touch screen, fiddly internet integration, no HDMI input, pricey

3M has packed the MP180 with a number of features, but it tries to do too much. The device is ultimately let down by an inconsistent touch screen and high price.
