BenQ MP721c review

BenQ takes its first steps into the budget projector market

Great bulb life of 3,000 hours ; High contrast ratio ; Excellent value for money

Boxy design ; Minimal set-up options ; Average colour saturation

If you can put its boxy design out of your mind, this is a great-value model from BenQ

BenQ MP721c

Unlike many others in the peripherals field, BenQ takes its budget products as seriously as its high-end ones, with individual technologies filtering through its ranges based on need rather than money-saving

BenQ MP721 / MP721C Multipurpose projector

The MP721 and MP721c are some of the most economical high performance projectors on the market. With a powerfull 2500 (2200 for the C model) lumen brightness perfect for large screen sizes in heavily lit rooms the MP721 offers an incredible 4000 Hour...

It is relatively easy to carry around with a high quality soft carry case included. It also comes with the required base mounting holes so can be ceiling mounted.

Additional commentary.....

The only difference between this model and the MP721 appears to be the lumens (2200 vs. 2500). There is also an optional wireless adapter available (Linkpro @ $220) which supposedly allows your computer to be up to 300' (100 m) away from your projector.

This projector also comes with very quiet fans. The overall picture is extremely bright and the text is crisp even when you're under fluorescent lights. Overall this is one of the hottest deals on a 'quality' projector. Supposedly DVD movies look...

BenQ MP721 1024 x 768 DLP Projector 2500 ANSI Lumen 2000:1

This projector can have a wireless connection by purchasing a module. Perfect for business meetings.

Amazing projector at a great price! Currently using this projector as a home theater. Even with a s-video connection the quality is amazing

non-HDCP compliant. Tried several different dvd players and cables(DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI), but had no success with the DVI-I input. Benq technical support doesn't know, or won't tell me why I the "non-HDCP compliant" appears on the screen and then shuts down

Small and light-weight compared to our 7-year old projectors it was supposed to replace

We bought 3 of these (but not from Newegg 'cause they weren't in stock then). Does NOT work properly in clone mode with our several brand new Dell Latitude D630 laptops or our Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop. It sometimes will display the desktop briefly,...

Not compatable with some laptops.

Newegg customer support is great! This is my second purchase from newegg and I will now shop newegg first! You guys Rock!

Picture was bright. Nice looking physical box

Colors did not appear accurate compared to my previous DLP projector. Would not work with my brand new Dell Inspiron laptop in clone mode (same picture on projector and laptop screen). It would work fine as an extented screen but not as clone. I tried...
