Epson's PowerLite Home Cinema 2030 projector cheap, not nasty

The ; offers a lot of features for a comparatively low price; picture quality is acceptable for a budget unit; capable of a fairly high light output without sacrificing color too much; 3D playback is very good.

Colors are a little unsaturated and black levels aren't the best at the price; no 3D glasses included; some uniformity issues on white scenes; no lens-shift

The Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 2030 offers a decent image and a good mix of features at a low price, but is still bettered by rivals.

Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 2030

The Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 2030 home entertainment projector delivers bright, 1080p images in both 2D and 3D.

Inexpensive. Full 1080p HD in 2D and 3D. Three-chip LCD means no rainbow effect. Two HDMI connectors with one MHL-enabled.

No 3D glasses included.

The Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 2030 is an impressively capable projector for the price, particularly if you want it for 2D only. If you want to use it for 3D, the extra cost of the glasses effectively raises the price, but that's offset somewhat by a...

Review: Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 2030 projector

Home projector excels at 3D and bulb life, but has brightness issues and poor color presets

3D performance ; Bulb ; Color range

Feet ; Necessary color adjustments ; Preset color modes

With high-definition televisions now the standard, 4K televisions becoming the next big thing, and plasma TVs going the way of the dinosaurs, in-home entertainment is an interesting beast these days. There are an overwhelming number of choices. Proje

Epson Home Cinema 2030 LCD Projector Reviewed

Just a few years ago, the introduction of a sub-$1,000 projector with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution was major news, but now a quick perusal of a site like VisualApex.com reveals a number of full 1080p models at or close...

The Epson Home Cinema 2030 is loaded with features and offers good performance for a projector in its price class. It's important to understand the different goals of the home entertainment projector versus the home theater projector and shop...

Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 2030 3D LCD Projector

2D Performance 3D Performance Features

I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised it was bright. I mean, it’s an Epson projector; of course it was going to be bright. But 42 foot-lamberts and 1080p for $1,000? That’s not too shabby. It’s perhaps even more impressive that all of that light...

Epson Home Cinema 2030

The brand new Epson Home Cinema 2030 is one of two similar new home entertainment projectors just launched by Epson.? This one, the Home Cinema 2030 that we are reviewing, will be sold by retailers, from big box houses like Best Buy, to smaller...

Exceptionally bright - in both 2D and 3D ; Overall very good color, right out of the box without adjustment ; Bright and medium images have lots of "pop ; A "smart" projector - works with a Roku stick for internet downloading of TV programs, sports,...

Black level performance is definitely "near entry level" nothing to write home about. It's typical for a $1000 projector, which means there are some that are better ; Black level performance means that really dark scenes don't pop - even in a fully...

The Epson Home Cinema 2030 is a brand new projector from Epson. There's no "last year's" version of the HC2030 (or the HC2000). That sure makes it more fun to review than many projectors that are modest updates.
