Sanyo PLV-Z 3000

Versatile positioning., Plenty of useful picture controls., High contrast., Barely any judder in movie playback (at 24 and 60 Hz).

Inaccurate colors in the factory setup., Not particularly bright., Average de-interlacing of standard TV.

This projector is a bit like a rough diamond: Only when you give it the necessary polish does it begin to shine, producing a contrast-rich movie picture with authentic colors; the factory setup is barely suitable for home-theater, and requires...

Sanyo PLV-Z3000 LCD Projector

Price: $3,295 At A Glance: Impressive resolution • Good blacks and shadow detail • Oversaturated color • Excellent value Sanyo has long been a big player in the business projector market. However, while it has a serious presence in home projectors in...

I must admit that I am not as impressed with the PLV-Z3000 projector as I had hoped. Still, when all is considered, including its status as the lowest priced of the ultra high contrast projectors reviewed so far, it is an excellent value. A better...

Sanyo PLV-Z3000 projector

One of the main reasons that home cinema projection hasn't really caught on in the UK is because of the products' huge size. Sanyo's latest PLV-Z3000 doesn't solve that problem - it's big and it's ugly - but you do at least get plenty of...

Great contrast, smooth Blu-ray playback, easy set-up, quiet operation

Lacklustre colours, bulky design

Sanyo has come up with a decent value projector ripe for those who want to create a mid-range home cinema. Its massive four high-definition feeds - more than on most similar projectors - lend it unusual versatility while its quiet operation and easy...

Sanyo PLV-Z3000 review

While the familiar big names are doing their usual thing at this end of the projector market, arguably less high-profile companies such as Sanyo have really upped their game. The PLZ-Z300 might still look blander than woodchip wallpaper, but getting...

Consumer review (productreview.com.au)

This is a brilliant 2D projector.

I've had my PLV-Z3000 for 4 years now. It came with a 4 year warranty on both the projector and the globe. ( Limit of 4,000 hours on the globe! ) Sanyo did replace the globe, free of charge, when it blew at about 2,500 hours. If you want an excellent...

Great picture, very reliable.

The only negative I can come up with is that it doesn't have motorised focus, and shift functions. But they aren't needed unless you are going to fit an Anamorphic lens anyway.
