The Sanyo also has small access holes and a manual air blower for clearing dust particles that might fall on the imaging chips and cause shadows on the screen. This problem is rare in my experience, but the Sanyo is the only one of these projectors...

Not only does this projector offer improved contrast over last year's popular Z2000, but the big news is that it is the first home theater projector under $10,000 to offer 5:5 pulldown.

It ain't pretty but for under £2,000 the Full HD PLV-Z3000 projector looks like a decent buy.

Keenly priced, frill-free LCD lightbox that excels with HD
Pictures very pleasing overall ; Flexible optics ; Runs very quietly
Disappointing upscaling ; No screen-triggering
Good value and great with HD and NTSC DVDs, but there are a couple of standard-definition niggles

An extremely impressive entry from Sanyo that, like many rivals, suffers at the hands of one particular rival
Another easy one to set-up ; 1080p spec ; smooth motion ; good contrast levels ; sharp, clean image
Pipped for absolute detail recovery
Can count itself hard done by to miss out on the full complement of stars – a strong four-star recommendation

Sanyo's affordable 1080p front projector has its share of flaws, but still represents respectable value in its category.
Accurate colour decoding ; Solid connectivity ; Well-rounded feature package ; Horizontal and vertical lens shift
Inaccurate primary colours bring down overall colour fidelity ; Not very bright
As before, green was so far off that it became painfully obvious in certain scenes. A perfect example of this was at 26:05 in the Caves section where there are large beds of green seaweed. On the PLV-Z3000, they looked positively neon lime....

At the tail end of last year we took a look at Sanyo's PLV-Z700, which was then one of the cheapest Full HD projectors on the market. Just a few months on and the PLV-Z3000 has ...
There's no doubt that the PLV-Z3000 is a serious piece of kit. Whether you're watching the big match or settling down to a high definition Blu-ray movie, it'll knock your socks off with a bright, clear and highly-detailed projection. However, its price...
