The Sharp's remote is compact and offers direct selection of inputs, picture modes, and IRIS1 and IRIS2. However, unlike the Epson's remote, it lacks backlighting, and its small, closely spaced buttons aren't easy to locate in the dark.

Sharp XV-Z15000

The Sharp XV-Z15000, however, is a very well balanced performer. And, like many DLP projectors in particular, its picture quality consistently looks good. After Mike calibrated the projector, I spent a lot of time viewing it on the usual Blu-ray (and...

Good "out of the box" picture quality (Natural mode, Dynamic) ; Very good color accuracy post calibration in best mode (Movie 2) ; Excellent black level performance for the price, one of the best lower cost projectors in this regard ; Great picture...

The remote control for several reasons, starting with the lack of a backlight ; Extremely limited placement flexibility, no lens shift ; Lens does not have great depth of field, as a result there is more roll off in sharpness toward the outside of the...

Overall, this is an excellent projector. If you can get over any placement issues, it seems to me that the Sharp XV-Z15000 is the strongest performing new DLP projector to hit the market recently in it's price range. This Sharp definitely is up to...

Sharp XVZ15000 home theatre projector

Sharp's latest home theatre projector has a hefty price tag

Good natural colour, 24p support, good design, quiet fan

Expensive, auto-iris isn’t the fastest

Sharp’s XVZ15000 home theatre projector is competitive with models from Epson and Mitsubishi, with consistently good colour and brightness. We aren't thrilled with its high price tag, however.

Sharp XV-Z15000

The Sharp XV-Z15000 throws a very bright, razor sharp, beautiful 1080p image & HDTV looks great as well. Avatar, Pixar or any new animated movies just POP off the screen, live action movies are detailed and smooth with excellent shadow detail. The...
