Outstanding scanner for 35 mm film and slides. If you can find one grab it along with an older PC running windows 98 and it's a brilliant piece of kit. Calling it obselete is short-sighted. I kept my Compac presario from 1998 for this reason. Yes it's...

I upgraded my computer to XP and Epson will not support the product for any system after Windows 98. No drivers or anything so it can't be used. I recommend never buying anything from Epson ever again if this is the way they treat their customers.

NONE - it does not work on the worlds most popular operating system (Windows XP)

No drivers for XP

This machine has served me well for the three years that I have been using it. Although I meant to I never got round to actually getting the APS attachment but for scanning 35mm it was great. Integrating well into other packages this machine has been...

It's a very simple machine to use on SCSI or parallel. It integrates well with other packages and provides very good quality output.

No support for anything newer than 1999. That makes it a dead machine.

Amazing good quality out of the scanner for such a low priced machine. Reliable, average speed, low res only to 1200 dpi native.

Good color quality (negs) most of the time. Simple operation for novice user. Supported by Vuescan software.

much lower than most scanners now out there. 2400-2900 typical, and up to 4000-4800 (high end) available at present.

Decent product at that time. But it can't compete with anything new.

Low price at that time. Speed not too bad.

Contrast is JUST acceptable. Anything beyoind a well balanced shot is usually loosing details in the dark and needs a lot rework to be printable.
