Epson - Perfection 1650 Photo

There are two versions of the Epson Perfection 1650 flat bed A4 scanner; a standard version and a 'Photo' version. Both are equipped with a USB 1.1 interface, but the latter version we tested incorporates a ...

The Epson Perfection 1650 Photo is very fast and excellent at scanning prints. But as the film scanner section of the 1650 Photo is disappointing, we'd recommend the standard version of the 1650 instead, saving 30 in the process.

Doesn't work properly with Windows XP

We've had this scanner for a couple of years, running under Windows 98. In general it worked well, although the "Epson Smart Panel" software was a bit flaky--sometimes (say 1 in 20) the interface screen came up completely black. (If you by luck clicked...

Good, but some limitations

Auto mode, ease of installation, ease of use

Best Scanner I've ever had. Descreens magazine pics and scans slides!

Great, easy to use and descreens magazine pics. USB ... Fast.

Nothing wrong...I love it.

Can't get passed the clicking sound.

Like the scanner, image quality, ease of use. However, for some reason, the scanner makes this faint clicking sound while plugged in (there is no power switch, so the only way to stop the clicking is to unplug the unit). Might sound trivial, but it...

Easy to use. Good quality

Annoying clicking sound, even when not in operation, no power switch.
