Epson Perfection 3490 Photo

Attractive scans, easy automated features, and a nice price make the Epson Perfection 3490 Photo hard to beat.

Though it's not the fastest scanner around, the dual-purpose Epson Perfection 3490 delivers high-quality photo and film scans at a relatively low price.

Epson Perfection 3490 Photo

The Epson Perfection 3490 Photo flatbed scanner produces high-quality photo print scans and reasonable-quality film scans at a record low price.

Color-restore feature revives old photos. Scans slides and negatives. Scans directly to PDF format.

No automatic document scanner. Dust removal works for slides and film only.

Good

Excellent. I finally got back to trusty brands and avoid the new influx of cheap junk. Epson gets the job done in spades. The software is top notch. NO compatability issues. No breakdowns. No behavior shifts over time

Its quite a bit loud

Not any better than it's predecessor

I bought this scanner to replace a 2480. I thought it would be an upgrade, but it's really not. I've only had this scanner for 5 months and now all my scans come out with a bright band down the right side. Each time I retry, more bands seem to appear....

It really is a good scanner. The professional mode allows you to take "raw" scans and the software it comes with allows you to properly adjust light/dark, color, saturation, etc

Motor sounds "rough" and the scanner doesn't seem any better than the older 2480 model. It isn't as fast as I'd like it to be, but I don't think the speed I want can be had at this price

Works Great

Bought it to scan some old slides and negatives. Seems to fit this purpose well. plan to scan some old prints and our professionsal photos. Plan to use it to scan some important docs as well. WE had some friends who lost everyhting in a fire and it...

Scan quality, can get it working even the front panel buttons without 500mb of junky bloated memory resident software (i.e. HP scanners). Twain support and scanning modes work for all experience levels. Handles slides and negatives well

Not really. I wish it where faster scanning at 3200dpi but they are all slow at this quality unless you are going with e a dedicated slide scanner

A good scanner for the price

The scanning for 35mm film negatives works very well.

Pictures and text scan well. Easy set up and install. Good scanner for the price for casual scanning

It is a little slow to warm up and to scan. It is also slightly loud while scanning
