Amazon Echo Studio review: The best Echo speaker yet

With deep bass, hi-res audio chops, and Dolby Atmos support, the Echo Studio is Amazon's best smart speaker yet and has few peers in the smart speaker space.

Class-leading bass ; Slick and simple setup ; Dolby Atmos and 360 Reality Audio support ; Large, sprawling soundstage ; All the Alexa smarts

Mid-range occasionally muffled ; Brittle touch to lighter instruments ; 3D music still in limited supply

Echo Studio review: Amazon finally nailed the audio quality

Amazon's priciest Echo speaker is a beast. It's big, versatile and sounds fantastic. To get the most out of it, though, you'll want to consider a high-res streaming plan like Amazon Music HD. The 3D audio options are a bit limited for now, but even...

Excellent audio ; Alexa smarts ; Hi-res audio ; Relatively affordable ; Works as home theater speaker

Big ; EQ requires some fine-tuning ; 3D audio content is very limited ; Sound best with Amazon Music HD

Amazon Echo Studio

With surprisingly robust Dolby Atmos-compatible directional audio, Amazon's Echo Studio delivers just as much power as smart speakers that cost twice as much.

Excellent value for the size and power. Loud, clear sound. Compelling directional audio.

Requires Amazon Music HD to listen to fully 3D Ultra HD music.

Bottom Line: With surprisingly robust Dolby Atmos-compatible directional audio, Amazon's Echo Studio delivers just as much power as smart speakers that cost twice as much.

Amazon Echo Studio review: finally, an Echo that sounds great

The Studio is a great-sounding smart speaker that has some silly gimmicks you can thankfully ignore

Loud, spacious sound ; Supports a wide variety of streaming music services ; Doubles as a Dolby Atmos home theater system when paired with a Fire TV device ; All the stuff Alexa can do on every other Echo speaker

Bass could be tighter and more powerful ; 3D music is more of a demo and less of a reality right now ; Takes up more physical space than many other smart speakers

The Echo Studio is Amazon’s best-sounding Alexa smart speaker, and it out classes the Apple HomePod and others that cost a lot more, even if you ignore its 3D music gimmicks.

Amazon Echo Studio review: Not quite the best smart speaker, but a fantastic value

The more-expensive Google Home Max delivers higher fidelity, and Sonos has the better multi-room ecosystem, but Amazon's best Echo shouldn't be overlooked.

Great audio performance for the money ; Supports 3D audio (Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 Reality Audio) ; Can be paired with Amazon’s inexpensive subwoofer and/or a second Studio for stereo

Lack of Z-Wave support weakens its abilities as a smart home hub ; You must subscribe to Amazon Music to get 3D audio ; Speaker enclosure is insufficently isolated from the surface it's placed on

The Echo Studio isn’t an audiophile loudspeaker, but it is an awesome speaker for the price. In terms of networked smart speakers, the $200 is the Studio’s closest competitor. It’s not nearly as powerful, but Sonos has the best multi-room audio...

Amazon Echo Studio vs. Google Home Max: Battle of the high-end smart speakers

One is more musical, but the other makes a better smart home controller. Which attribute is most important to you?

I’m putting greater weight on this comparison’s first round, musical performance, to declare the Google Home Max a superior smart speaker over the Amazon Echo Studio.

Amazon Echo Studio review: This premium smart speaker isn't a dumb purchase

Amazon's flagship Echo has more speakers than you can shake a stick at

Loud, crisp sound without being distorted ; Dolby Atmos is pretty nice ; Zigbee hub makes it super fast to set up smart devices

Very large footprint ; Alexa isn’t always the greatest ; Sound quality suffers at low volumes

Maybe. It’s obviously not for everyone at $200, but it’s full of features that everyone wants in a smart speaker. If you want a good intersection of sound quality and price, this is a pretty appealing option, especially since it can easily be expanded...

The Amazon Echo Studio is a super-smart speaker with powerful audio, ideal for smart home cinema setups.

Powerful, bassy sound ; Hi-res audio support ; Dolby Atmos 3D ; Attractive design ; Auto calibration

Bass can overpower

The Amazon Echo Studio combines powerful audio with Alexa smart voice controls for the most advanced Echo yet with the highest price to match.

First smart speaker with 3D Audio – Amazon Echo Studio Review

Amazon Echo Studio Review – For a while now, fans of Amazon speaker products (like the Echo Dot or Echo ) were longing for something more, something that sounds better. Not that the Amazon Echo sounds bad, but it's just that the competition is high.

Amazon Echo Studio is definitely the best sounding smart speaker that Amazon can offer to date. It’s also aesthetically pleasing and modern which will suit any modern house and rooms.

The Amazon Echo Studio is the best smart speaker you can buy

The Echo Studio brings high-quality, room-filling sound to the Alexa smart ecosystem. Despite the gimmicky 3D audio capabilities, the affordable price redeems the Echo Studio, making it one of the better high-end smart speakers around.

Sound quality is a step up over the competition ; Room-filling sound ; Inexpensive for the capabilities ; Zigbee hub

3D audio is a gimmick ; Utilitarian design
