Plextor PX-64M1S 2.5" 64GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Stick with Newegg, but dump Plextor, it's just not worth the headaches begging them for something that should be freely available to current owners of the drive since it is nothing more than a simple bios update for the SSD.

I use it with persistent cache software (like EBoostr) instead of Windows' built-in ReadyBoost for better cache hit rates (files stay cached across boots). Used this way, it is cheaper than a large laptop SSD and provides a lot of the performance...

I bought this drive in Jan and since then it was crashing my system, I wasn't sure what it was but sometimes it wasn't even detected by the bios. It finitely failed after just 3 months. It was my first ssd and it was extremely fast compared to hhd's...

10 year warranty is nothing to sneeze at. I bought mine 6 months ago, after 1 month it failed on me, and after reading online about it, found out that it was part of a bad batch of them. Sent it in(free shipping), 5 days later had a new one with...

Patriot set out to develop a cost effective SSD with the PS-100 series and while they have created an affordable SSD, we do not feel that the design is very cost effective in terms of the performance vs. price ratio. Truth be told, you are much better...

I've been happy with this. Not super-fast or anything but it does the job, is silent and consumes less energy. Has lasted for quite a while with no issues.

I'm an early adopter and I work in the technology field - I'm an advanced user. If you are a novice user, stick with the proven HDDs for right now. These devices need to get better before they are ready for prime time. The expense and the reliability...

I do not like giving reviews of less than 4 stars as often I think it unfairly punishes manufacturers. But in this case, I have wasted nearly two full days on a drive that clearly has issues. Do a search on this model, and you'll find post after post...

I wish they would extend the warranty due to a firmware bug that might have set the wear leveling wrong. 3 years 1 month of just read access seems even short for TLC NAND flash.

I also had the internal USB connector on this drive break off. I had bought 2 and had to take apart the second one to use it to get the data from the first one. I have owned literally hundreds of drives and this one was the worst design I have ever seen.
