Impressive SSD HDD

Buy it. You will wish that you bought one for everything that takes a hard-drive. You dont even need to worry about magnets that much since there's no magnetic platters in this device, it's all NAND gates.

Speed. Super fast SSD HDD ; Works great in a PS3 console. Out preforms my other PS3 with a 7200rpm 400GB HDD ; A must have for hardcore gamers ; What can I say, it's crazy super fast ; Did I mention the 128MG cache!!! most others are 64MG

It will burn a hole in your wallet. Wish capacity was larger

Buyer beware

I will NEVER buy anything OCZ again

Was fast...for about 3 weeks Then slowed significantly

OCZ says no fix available and none anticipated. No TRIM support for Win7. They seem to care less that they sold a lousy product. No offer to trade up

Great in a DV2

Bought from newegg on a shell shocker deal, was here in two days, cloned and installed all my programs within 30 minutes. My specs: HP DV2 AMD Turion X2 Neo 4GB RAM 60GB Summit SSD Windows Vista Premium 64-bit (installing Windows 7 today)

This was the perfect SSD for my brand new HP DV2. It installs quick (cloning took only 10 mins from the old drive) and can open a large file quickly. It fully boots my system with most of the crapware still on it in about 20 seconds. I use it for...

Absolutely none

faaaaast!

There is a new firmware to be released end of Nov. with TRIM support but this drive does not need it. Oh yeah...Newegg rocks!

It is very fast, takes 8 minutes to install Windows 7 Ultimate on this thing. Getting 23,000 HDD suite PCMark Vantage on a laptop

None--mine has VBM18C1Q firmware and putting the computer in sleep mode for a few hours restores performance degradation

Solid Performer

A solid performer that you won't regret purchasing.

Caught this onsale and have no regrets buying this for my HTPC. It performed flawlessly so far and I have performed all the recommended tweaks from the OCZ forums. I am running Windows 7RC

Doesn't "feel" as fast as I thought it would be but is still much faster than the 7200 RPM drive it replaced in my HTPC

Wow

I am just blown away by this drive. Performance was beyond my expectation. Basically everything I do now is CPU limited (with the exception of a few very large SQL queries on a local database) Some of my development tools used to take 20 - 30 seconds...

Very, very fast ; Great for software development work ; XP boots in seconds now ; Came with the "auto garbage collection firmware" (VBM18C1Q)

Low overall capacity, but can be worked with ; Price per MB is high

Not too happy about the rebate.

Totally not happy with how they handle rebates. Even when you fill it out, there's this huge block of text that basically says "Get your card in a few days for a small fee of $3 or wait 8-10 weeks" and there's a radio button already clicked for the...

Speed is quick. Everything opens instantaneously. World of Warcraft loads zones faster than my cable modem can load them. The bar usually loads all the way to the right, but sits there waiting on the server ; This thing is extremely fast. Even write...

When this drive was on the Shell Shocker deal for $129.99 (after $30 mail-in rebate), I bought 3. One for me, one for my girlfriend's laptop and one for my best friend's birthday ; Because the billing address was pointed to my house, I read the fine...

Rating Reconsidered

Stay away from this disk, and any SSD with a $amsung controller, or you'll end up with a very expensive paperweight. All the OCZ forums can promise is that $amsung *might* come out with a firmware fix around the time Windows 7 is released.

The initial read speed of this disk is blazingly fast, at least for the first three weeks or so

The drive has developed read and write problems -- after 3 weeks Windows 7 RC began developing BSODs, Firefox would crash, Eset Nod32.exe AV could not run, etc. Windows 7 would not re-install -- could not write files to the media. After six tries,...

why buy a summit?

Why buy a Summit that does not have TRIM or garbage collection when you can get a Vertex that does?

Seems to benchmark up to specs but

Fresh install Windows 7 restarts in 76 seconds my hdd restarts much faster

Read the review at Anandtech

These are just as fast as any of the SSD when you first get them

This drive uses Samsung flash. It can't be firmware updated unless you have the manufacturer update it. Out of all the solid state drives out there it has the worst performance once all data has been written once. We are talking massive losses in...
