Patriot Wildfire SSD ( 240GB)

The Patriot WildFire's cost is on par with most other SSDs, meaning that it's very expensive in terms of cost per gigabyte, at around $550 for 240GB (or $315 for the 120GB version). If you can afford that, you won't be disappointed and will definitely...

The 2.5-inch laptop Patriot WildFire solid-state drive (SSD) comes with a drive-bay converter so it can also fit in a 3.5-inch (desktop) drive bay. It supports SATA 3 (6Gbps) and offers a huge improvement over traditional hard drives.

The Patriot WildFire is expensive and takes a long time to be formatted. Its data transfer speed is comparatively slow.

The Patriot WildFire offers significant performance gain on any computer at a premium cost.

Patriot Wildfire 240GB review

Most SSDs are already incredibly fast, when set against hard-disk technology. And then there are the really fast models, based on speedy third-gen SATA and using optimised flash storage chips and controllers to make the most of the nominal 6Gbit/sec...

While it couldn’t match the advertised performance in our tests, the Patriot Wildfire 240GB is still a very quick solid-state drive. In simple drag-racing terms – the sequential read/write tests – it could easily surpass the capabilities of the...

Good drive for my MacBook Pro

Thanks Newegg for picking up their slack. Too bad we can't vote on this website for bad service to these vendors. You guys will always have my back and my loyalty. Bless you and Happy New Years!

Works great, no issues with MacBook Pro

Rebate is hell. Lack of good customer service. Do not offer rebates to your potential customers only to tick us off in the waiting process and denying us

Fast, and sometimes furious...

A firmware upgrade for your drive is pretty common when purchasing SSDs. Most SSDs have a high failure rate as well, when compared to HDDs. With this drive, as with other SSDs, keep a backup of important files. If you have secondary storage, make an...

5 Eggs. Very fast. Windows boots like lightning, and loads programs like lightning. Drive operates at cool temps, etc

1 Egg. Drive would freeze every few hours and require a couple of reboots to come back up. I upgraded the firmware and it's been fine since

Excellent SSD

I contacted Patriot through their website, and they sent me the RMA papers the next day. The RMA process is exceptionally fast. Fill out a form with them on their website and they'll tell you where to send it. Their policy works like this, send it in...

This SSD is amazing. Throw one of these in your PC and you're guaranteed to see a massive difference over a conventional hard drive. Applications load up in milliseconds after you click on them. It makes for a very fluid and fast computing experience

The first one I received had some write issues. I would get a BSOD every time I would try to write larger files to the disk ; I had to RMA the first SSD. See other thoughts for more details

awesome drive +1

got some questions or comments please leave them.

Started using SSDs since 2009. Started with Indilinx based, which I decided to go with Patriot Memory. Now it had some issues but what new tech doesn't ; So when SATA III based Sandforce SSDs came out to the market I did my research. Of course new tech...

Freezing Fast

One thing I find really frustrating is having to pay to ship the drive to them, when I have to do so because they sold me a defective item. Of course, it's the same pretty much everywhere, but doesn't make it less frustrating. How many times will I...

Very fast

I was getting a BSOD every 2-4 days with my first SSD. After a couple weeks of e-mailing with patriot tech guy, he told me to RMA it, so I did. This is my 2nd drive and, guess what, 2 days in my comp and I get a BSOD.... Bought this instead of Vertex 3...

Best SSD I Have Had So Far

You have to do some research when dealing with ssds and sata III. If you do, you should have no problems.

I have owned 8 different SSDs with the 2200 series controller and this is the only one that I have not had any problems with. I have used most of the other brands and they are not as fast or have BSOD or restart issues. The Wildfire is fast and even...
