Samsung SSD 850 Pro ( 256GB)

There are plenty of reasons to be excited about the Samsung SSD 850 Pro.

The Samsung SSD 850 Pro has fast performance, high endurance -- you can write a lot of data to it before it becomes unreliable -- and its 2TB capacity is the highest on the market. The drive comes with a lot of useful features, including encryption,...

The drive is expensive compared with competing solid-state drives. The Samsung Magician software only works with Windows.

The Samsung SSD 850 Pro is one of the best standard consumer-grade solid-state drives on the market, but there are cheaper alternatives with similar performance.

Samsung SSD 850 Pro (128GB, 256GB & 1TB) Review: Enter the 3D Era

Over the last three years, Samsung has become one of the most dominant players in the SSD industry. Samsung's strategy has been tight vertical integration ever since the beginning, which gives Samsung the ability to be in the forefront of new...

If you are looking for a SATA 6Gbps drive and want the absolute best, the 850 Pro is your pick. It is without a doubt the best drive in the market as long as you are able to justify the price premium over other options.

Samsung 850 PRO 256GB Review

The revolution has arrived. Up to the release of the Samsung 850 PRO, the most common strategy was to shrink the die to increase higher bit densities in order to reduce cost and while offering higher capacity. Shrinking a planar layout can only take...

Samsung SSD 850 PRO 256GB - A Game Changer in the Making

The Samsung SSD 850 PRO is a milestone because it is the first consumer SSD to use 3D Vertical NAND, a special type of NAND memory invented by Samsung to overcome the shortcomings of traditional NAND architecture. Why is it important and how does this...

Tremendous all-round performance ; 10-year warranty ; Breakthrough NAND technology ; Easy-to-use Samsung Magician utility

Performance hampered by SATA interface ; No accessories ; Pricey but justifiable

For those who can afford to wait or have the intention to upgrade to Intel’s new 9 Series chipset, Samsung has also told us that a M.2 variant will likely be made available in early Q4 of this year, while a PCIe variant is likely to debut early next...

Samsung SSD 850 PRO 256GB Review

We review the brand new Samsung SSD 850 PRO 256GB, featuring the firm's new 3D V-NAND

The SSD 850 PRO is yet another fantastic entry into the SSD market from Samsung. With the limits of the SATA interface quickly being reached now, it's harder to tease out the performance differences between drives. Even so, the SSD 850 PRO is...

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Still good after nearly 2 years

I have this paired with a 500GB 850 Evo and my Evo is slightly faster than this, I must have one the silicon lottery on ssds... if that is a thing.

I have used this as my OS drive and the advertised read and write speeds are within 20MB/s of real world speeds after 2 years of use! Not to mention this beast has a 10 year warranty. This drive will more than likely outlast everything else in my pc,...

Fast Drive

I would absolutely recommend this SSD drive.

Upgraded a late model Dell Lattitude Laptop. It is fast! Runs much cooler and battery life is at least 30% greater. Best money I have spent in a while. My IT guy has a lot of experience with this Drive and reports it is the best available.

No Cons.
